Shakti Cosmology in the Kali Yuga


Elizabeth: We only exist for a brief moment in time so brief that it is not measurable yet that brief moment exists indeed. We live and die at every brief moment again and again not because it is karma, but because we recognise the "distractions" that the light of fire, water and air make on our visual and sensory receptors. When distracted we "stick around" to see what else there is and then the imagination "creates" with desires and the available light/water/air. If we lose sight of the "distractions" we end up dead in the physical sense where others no longer see us as living, yet in reality we step through the pin hole in the universe into the next cycle.

Dhushara: We exist for this incarnation and have a responsibility not just to flit in and out of existence and non-existence but to redeem and reflower the living planet for the generations to follow. This is the duty of the avatar without which all is futility hubris and corruption that will never further.
The pinhole to the next cycle is a mind sky patriarchal view of the cosmos put there by cultural 'avatars' like Krishna to try to divert attention from the physical reality of the feminine aspect of the totality - Kali, Shakti, Gaia, or Mother Nature. The idea that the physical world around us is a collection of distractions which we could or should pop through in our cycle of reincarnation is a dangerous male deception.
We are entering the Kali Yuga - this is the age of science and apocalypse. Life is perennial, but we are damaging the Earth to the extent that our own survival prospects are being seriously undermined. We invent nuclear weapons and chemical and biological weapons of mass destruction, we are devastating our natural ecosystems, causing a mass extinction of biodiversity and disrupting the climatic stability of the planet semi-permanently. This is criminal religious and selfish folly based on male views of nature as subservient, evil or a grist to be exploited.
A major reason for this are the very patriarchal religions that espouse this mind-sky view of the physical as distraction and in the case of the Judeo-Christian-Islamic traditions of the idea that a desert God may scorch the Earth to triage of every living thing in the tumult of an apocalyptic end game which is really a product of our own folly.
Science has lost her soul because we moved from a scorched Earth God to an age of reductionistic materialism with no ethical idea of how to synthesize and refertilize a sustainable world.
The Universe IS the embodiment of Kali. Kali is - kal 'time' - it is the process of creation and destruction lived out in real time as opposed to the timeless eternal of the space-time envelope.

This has deep resonances with the idea of Kali as creatrix, and yet destructress of the material realm, so that the history and future of the universe is the Kali Yuga in its full blown nemesis:

Such in outline, but even more purposeless, more devoid of meaning is the world which science presents for our belief. Amid such a world, if anywhere, our ideals henceforward must find a home. That man is the product of causes that had no prevision of the end they were achieving; that his origin, his growth, his hopes and fears, his loves and his beliefs, are but the outcome of accidental collocations of atoms; that no fire, no heroism, no intensity of thought and feeling, can preserve an individual life beyond the grave, that all the labours of the ages, all the devotion, all the inspirations, all the noon-day brightness of human genius, are destined to extinction in the vast death of the solar system, and that the whole temple of man's achievement must inevitably be buried beneath the debris of a universe in ruins - all these things, if not quite beyond dispute, are yet so nearly certain, that no philosophy that rejects them can hope to stand. Only within the scaffolding of these truths, only on the firm foundation of unyielding despair, can the soul's habitation henceforth be safely built. ... The ultimate birth and fate of the universe are entirely destructive to life, but this is not a tragedy because life is resplendent on the cosmic equator - the tropic of Gaia. Indeed the big bang alpha and omega death are essential to create the complex universe with forces of nature making tissues and life possible at all, so we have to settle for the Kali condition as the best of all possible worlds even though the cosmic design may have her eating us all alive in the heat death. Science is feminine, as Shakti and Kali is feminine, because it is the description of the embodiment of the existential condition, complete with its wild sexuality leading to individual mortality, and creation and destruction of life, through the passage of the generations, and the ultimate annihilation of all life in the heath death or cosmic crunch and the awesome details of the scientific description, from the forces of nature to the genetic code.

This is not to suggest that the universe is ruled by a vengeful neolithic Goddess, or that the physical universe is permeated by a vital feminine 'holy ghost' but that our existential description of reality, our respect for the physical and nature as sacred, rather than inert materials to be exploited, lacks the integrating view which makes sense of how all this awesome cosmological description leads to a verdant overflowing of sustainable natural life or a sense of the 'sap and dew' of human destiny to bring about the joyous perennial cosmology of living paradise on the cosmic equator.

The analytic aspects of good deductive science do not require a vitalistic myth to complete them but rather a new appreciation of the role we as sentient beings must needs play, since we are mortal and cannot carry our baggage with us when we go to do the one and only thing in this transient life that makes any sense at all - to leave the planet and on a wider scale the sentient universe in amore complete and better state than it was before we came along.

This is partly 'feminine' in aspect, just as the females of the species make the living flesh and blood covenant with the life process by giving birth to live young. It is also essential to a complete description of the cosmic Tao that the patriarchal view of reality involved in traditional religious thought and the analytic reductionistic mechanistic view of the scientific description be complemented by the feminine synthesizing aspects of the description arising from non-linear dynamics, the paradoxes of uncertainty and the wave-particle relationship, the nature of quantum entanglement
, the emergent properties of quantum molecular systems, and the synthetic integrative properties of molecular biology, from molecular complexes and organelles, through cells, to tissues, organisms and ecosystems.

It is the tragedy of human history that men, in their fear of their own mortality, not giving birth to living beings themselves, have seized control of culture, and developed scorched Earth religions of fire and retribution, leading to an idea of a vengeful God acting in history that brings us to our own tumult and near destruction and a view of the physical universe as a kind of Newtonian clockwork mechanism freely available for human exploitation, or worse still nature as sexual evil and the slime of mortal imperfection.
Karma is not a predetermined, or moral destiny. Karma is the active quantum entanglement of uncertainty leading to the coincidences we find in the living world around us, which indicate the universe may be more consciously alive than we may think.

Touching the Messianic Complex


This posting is a dialogue between two people, each having a sense of the messianic awakening implied by the unveiling, each of whom would like the world to wake up and come to a state of realization that we are one together in the first person, in paradise, as the embodiment of the godhead. It is included partly as a catalyst so that those of you who sense the awakening and are open-minded enough to see how it can come about together, without oppression of imposed beliefs, can gain the sense that we are not alone.

Stephen: Thanks, Chris, for responding so quickly; I've been leaping through your online texts yesterday and last night, totally impressed by the amount of esoteric information you two have gathered together, much of it knowledge that confirms my own spiritual pathway as a modern gnostic Christian without the burden of anti-Feminism or anti-Creation.

I haven't read any of your books and do not know your history but like you, I am a WW II war baby and my life has been quite an adventure in spiritually-based activism after God came along at Easter in 1979 and put me through my own three day Road to Damascus experience, converting me with three days of non-stop synchronicity experiences from 35 years of being without God to a believer who's faith has never wavered once in the belief of the reality of God and the spiritual world underlying our material one.

Knowing only that God had converted this former atheist to some new form of Christian belief that took me a year to discover was in the Gnostic Christian experience realm (the Nag Hammadi Library being published in English in 1980), I was without any ability to relate my spiritual experiences to traditional Christian pastors I talked with, only finding their closed doors to any mention of "gnosticism", Paul and the Church Fathers crew doing an excellent job of clobbering other forms of Gnosis besides Paul's. So for years I just let the heretic visions come in in their periodic appearances and went on with my life as one of the "Back to the Land" homesteaders and a dedicated social change and environmental activist in our notorious county in N.California, Humboldt, land of Mari and the Graces (John) including flowers of the Goddess without male seed, our local Goddess sacrament for spiritually-minded aging hippies of which I am one.

For some 28 years I was "Christian" but Christian in what I later came to realize was a Jewish way. I found out in 1994 after my atheist mother died through dna testing that she carried all kinds of Ashkenazi ancestry, even some Sephardic ones through her mother's side while my father's side was steeped in Evangelical Christianity, complete with several religious fanatics, two missionaries aunts, one being one of those incredibly brave souls who went into the jungles of Bolivia in the 40's (see End of the Spear movie reference) confronting head-hunters with the Gospel and another to China, kicked out when the Communists took over), another one, cousin, head of the largest Lutheran church in San Francisco, an uncle, older than me who is currently immersed in his church sponsored homeless community outreach program-living it, and of course me, the worst of the bunch because I truly believe I am carrying a brand new Gospel of the Christ, several in fact, but all not really new at all, but very ancient knowledge of the nature of God and humanity and the fulfillment of our future evolution. This is the esoteric information known to Jesus as the most knowledgeable of the Son of Man prophesy bearers. Like you, once the knowledge arrives it really leaves you no choice but to pass it on and in doing so, one becomes "annointed" really meaning "appointed", one "sent", myself as a "Son of Man" prophesy bearer, bearing the Good News! in plain language. Those who receive this Good News! become themselves a "Son of Man" or "Daughter" as Jesus set the example, and thus anyone who receives it and believes its truth and passes the Truth on.

I am coming from the Son of Man tradition but coming from it in a new way that I do believe fulfills the glimmerings of the Son of Man prophesy bearers before me, especially Jesus. Social evolution has brought much science in the last 500 years if not gnosis and it seems God thinks we are now ready to receive the truth about God and humanity's role in Creation. We now have the science knowledge to understand what Jesus was trying to say in parables and metaphors and attachments of magical powers to gods the ancient minds could only receive as being really of God-humankind too much Job's lowly worm. I am sent to tell the spiritual truth in plain language or so my personal spiritual path (or delusions of grandeur and madness--take your pick, depending on belief in archetypal forces at work through human beings). For 28 years I was spiritually guided by an angel, the Angel of Peace, Ariel, the Angel of Jerusalem, and Lion of God. Never "seen" as a vision of your traditional angel but only in synchronicity "signs" bearing the name, and stamp of Jerusalem and peace concern, peace, peace, in the Holy Land being so important). Last year, before beating prostate cancer, Father came to me in the "personal relationship" way that my traditional "born again" Christian friends enjoyed with Jesus and I being baffled at what their various "Jesus" voices were telling them, seeing Paul's gospel mark all over their Jesuses while my new Father Jesus, His identification to me last year) had something radically different to say.

Led by Father Jesus into an Egyptian connection in the Gospels, (even in my life with a Sign way back in 1964 or 65 when my wife to be and I visited a Christian seer who told then "Egypt" would be very important to me), I am now convinced that the Gospels of Christianity originated as a Jewish Egyptian Mystery Religion and it's time to tell the world this as well as warn them about the End of Abraham. The "End Times" meaning the end of the Piscean aeon and many traditional spiritual paths, as Jesus said (see his remark about blasphemy of the Holy Spirit not being forgiven in this aeon (Pisces) or the next, ours (Aquarius), something so few Christians read being led by Paul and Revelation to expect the End of Everything, not knowing what the End of Days and the Ancient of Days really represented.

God has now chased Abraham and Sarah all the way back to northern India through the god names and ideology, and Sanskrit/Hebrew connection, plus the physical evidence of the drying up Sarasvati River and its Brahmin-ruled Vedic civilization there, forcing their moving out around 2000 BC with their riches south into India proper and west into Iran where I can trace a direct Iranian Brahmin connection through their sun-god Surya, (Assyria, Syria, Asher, Asar/Asir/Osiris) all the way to Egypt. The Iranian Brahmin spiritual warfare against the Vedic Brahmin's devas has been continued on all the way to today in the Abrahamic warfare with the Devil and Mother.

With the inevitable End of Abraham, God seems intent on re-establishing spiritual authority in the Holy Land of the Old World and making a spiritual rainbow bridge to the New World as well because it was EL who woke me up spiritually at Easter of 1979 but unknown to me at the time EL arrived through Wakan Tanka's sacred mountain icon, Bear Butte, firmly establishing a spiritual connection between me, my family and Native America that took 25 years to become fully revealed. I am living two powerful spiritual visions that are both playing out in our real world and because I am a writer I have recorded my life's spiritual adventure. So many synchronicity events as you can discover in my website have led me to believe I am carrying the prophesies that all of us who know how The Goddess has been stripped of power will now be comforted. She is Coming! I have seen Her and not only me, my daughter as well. This is the second powerful vision I am living out in real life, the Vision of Christ Josephine that came to me before I had any knowledge of the Lakota prophesy of the return of White Buffalo Calf Woman. 5 years after the Vision I learn who Christ Josephine is and then Wakan Tanka really got serious about it and literally married my daughter (she too had her vision of Josephine) into it when she married a good local white boy who a few years later, curious about the "Indian in the cupboard" in his own family tree, found himself a direct descendant of the Lakota's most famous spiritual war chief, Sitting Bull. Sitting Bull's Peace Medal given by President Grant I believe, is a family heirloom and my grandkids are a 16th Lakota.

I am friends with former Oglala president Alex White Plume and Orval Looking Horse, 19th Keeper of the Sacred Pipe given the Lakota by WBCW, knows of my Vision as does Alex. Alex will be supplying the four buffalo horns for the corners of the new Altar of Peace that Paxcalibur will eventually rest upon in Jerusalem. I wanted you people to know I exist and that these two Visions, Christ Josephine and Paxcalibur are still seriously in motion and I do believe they are re-establishing spiritual authority ("Unless you see signs and wonders, you will not believe..") for the Spirit of Christ in wholeness, true Holiness, confirming the truth of the Gospel of Humanity. Like Yeishu ben Pantera, my personal "historical Jesus", I too am half-caste Jewish Gentile, but like John-Mark, author of the 1st Gospel, I have a trace of Libyan Sephardic (Mizraim) ancestry. Christ Josephine Herself will be coming from the Northern Cheyenne Little White Man lineage (i.e. the "Little Big Man"--Jewish line seen in the movie with Dustin Hoffman) as more synchronicity put me together with Her mother's family lineage. Dhushara: I understand your trip and have had a similar one in certain ways. I'm happy to talk about this in detail so first let me just sketch the lie of the land. I have had a similar calling. I have written a lot of tracts from an avidly messianic point of view. I have made a journey of resynthesizing the gnostic roots of Christianity and the wider beliefs of the Near East that form the cultural backdrop to the God acting in history of the monotheistic tradition.

I have also wandered India as a sadhu and visited all the power plants of the Western hemisphere, taking the peyote ceremony with the native American church and the potions of the Amazon from leprous shamans. IN the millennium I made a journey to Israel where I dod some rites of passage of the reunion of the feminine and masculine aspects of reality, supported by liberal Jews in a very astute and open minded way.

I try to balance my numinous intervention in the karma of the planet with a scientific view of emergent and evolutionary biocosmology which in my opinion has far deeper and more valid roots than the iconic manga of biblical account and prophecy for all its cultural intrigue.

I would like to try to get together with some like-minded people and start a world futures movement, but I recognize two things. The first is that all religious systems survive and become popular because they are forces which appeal to the mass mind in an evangelical controlling manner that is reflective of a cultural process of domination rather than a true understanding (religio - bind together = fasces - bound bundle of sticks) , which exemplifies the gnostic dilemma. The second is that individual opinions differ so extensively that when you try to bring together even a very small number of people in a free spirited liaison, chaos is likely to ensue.

My take on the whole messianic question is that the godhead is manifest through the messianic immanence - that is the messiah is real but God is a projection of messianic consciousness. Second point. Messianic consciousness is what happens when we begin to take full personal responsibility for our incarnation on the planet and recognize that the only issue of value between life and death is leaving the world in a better more enlightened more sustainable state of paradise than it was when we arrived.

In my opinion this is the kind of cross-cultural revolution that Jesus set off but it is not an easy one to pursue because religions are, by their fascist nature, oppressive and can only be refertilized by a paradigm shift, which is often lethal for the instigator. Anything less just becomes a cult and does more harm than good.

The difficulty with perceived numinous visions is that they can easily become iconic revealed truths to the subject and mean a lot less to others, so the test of your ideas are, as for me whether you can convince "my very own friend" you have something going for them that you can both share and be liberated by. Jesus didn't do a very good job of this bit because he passed the sop to Judas in a way which doomed them both to a paranoid demise!

It's a much harder prospect to reflower the Tree of Life!

Stephen: Thanks, Chris, for your good response. The Gospel of Humanity reflects the new path God has put me on since receiving "confirmation" of the truth of God's Cosmic Plan. I feel I am a natural inheritor and synthesizer of Teilhard de Chardin's ideas only God has taken them to their ultimate conclusion in the Gospel of Humanity. I have no idea what to expect from following the visions I get but sometimes they do really astonishing things, as the Paxcalibur one did in Nazaret, Israel as well as the Vision of Christ Josephine manifesting in actual family ties to the Lakota's great spiritual chief, Sitting Bull. By unseen design, God put me in partnership for a while with a Norther Cheyenne woman who is of the Little White Man family and I am long time friends with her ex-husband working together for years on regaining ancestral tribal land. Since I have never pushed my spiritual trip on anyone I am free of association with any cult appearing group which I believe helps immensely in my ability to work easily and directly with spiritually minded people and tribal and church leaders as well as Muslims and Palestinian activists. They all see my heart is placed in God's hands to help evolve humanity towards its full meaning no matter what my particular religious views are, which actually are, necessarily quite critical of the traditional Abrahamic religions that are causing so much unnecessary pain, death, and misery in the world as you see as well as I do.

I am still committed to surrendering to the spiritual visions and will do them, in some ways, not to serve God and humanity but my own sanity as I am highly curious to see what these visions produce in the real world if anything at all like what they mean to me. I will be raised up according to God because I have produced the Gospel of Humanity and it contains the essential spiritual truth God wants the world to know now for our new aeon. For many it will mean God is taking "God" away and replacing God with humanity which is true but only semantically in the end, for it was always there from the beginning. But also, watch the movie The Other Conquest sometime soon to see how Catholic Christianity relatively easily, without real need of massive invasion of large conquering armies converted all of Mexico, Central and South America native cultures to Catholicism. It was Mary who did the conversion because most of these people worshiped the Great Mother and just transferred their Mother goddesses to the Virgin Mary. Because my Vision of Christ Josephine, even though obviously connected to White Buffalo Calf Woman, is in spiritual reality another "invasion" of a Mary-type of Great Mother on earth. My red brother Don Brenard are looking but in no hurry for possible incarnation of Christ Josephine within the Little White Man lineage-like his own daughter Mariah.

I do believe John when he writes, "Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe." Something the Gnostics didn't count on, relying as they did and do on intellectual effort instead of emotional possession to really change a person's beliefs and behavior patterns. So I will do some "signs", the ones given to me to do and see what happens. It's such a marvelous life God has given me with all these visions and knowledge and enough strength to carry them through that I very happy to do the assigned work.

Ok, back down to earth. Yes. The FACT remains, many many of us have visions we are utterly convinced are from God and as we know, the visions vary like night and day and all shades of colars and hues in between. The perennial problem of too many prophets running loose which again drives this prophet back to the signs, the evidence of God in motion on earth. Group effort. I will be thinking on it and check out your sites more.

Dhushara: I've been through the same sorts of experiences that you describe and I like your relationship with the native Americans, but I have a lot of difficulty taking sides between Zionism and Islamic ideas of a monolithic utopia dividing the world between the domains of submission and war, or with claiming to be an instrument of God's plan. I think all these religious agendas are deeply flawed and dangerous and damaging to our living futures together as one people.

Conscious existence is a primal mystery which is a complementarity between the sap and dew of the physical and numinous nature of the subjective sentient, with the molecular dance of biogenesis and the evolution of ever more sentient life forms, currently culminating in our own quasi-cosmological consciousness, the most intriguing and awesome manifestation of the cosmic potential of the universe to come to a climax of sentient diversity. Alongside this, gospel narratives of God acting in history look simplistic and assertively contrived.

However running through our coming of age is also an apocalyptic prescience that we have fallen from Paradise into diaspora and that the covers are about to be thrown off reality amid tumult and revelation, in coming face to face with the ultimate reality.

I see this apocalyptic vision as an archetypal theme on our collective consciousness which is a valid response to humanity's cultural emergence and episodes of ensuing political and environmental turmoil which has given rise to repeated rounds of genocidal conflict and many episodes of economic and ecological misadventure leading to war, famine and flood. But how valid the apocalyptic perspective is depends on being able to use it to bring about long term sustainability of the diversity of the tree of life of the generations of humanity and all living beings.

Some of us are capable of entering into visionary experiences, which we may find to be intensely meaningful immanent manifestations of the mysterium tremendum, but whether God exists, or is giving any one of us a cosmic plan, is an issue fraught with contradictions and situations of jeopardy, oppression and implicit violence against transgressors.

We need to learn more from nature and the diversity of life before committing to any moral imperative in the name of God's will. The idea that the lion will lie down with the lamb is simply not sustainable, nor is it beneficial.

I see the messianic quest as in potential full blown contradiction to both religion and the idea that the creator has a master plan. For example Jesus as a mashiach overthrew extant ideas of God and his ideas were again hijacked by the Hellenistic idea of God the Father sacrificing his firstborn. He was himself killed rather than being a religious leader in his own lifetime and his teachings, particularly the gnostic ones, suggest he is not the master and we are each the bearers of the cosmic union in the twinning of the Gospel of Thomas.

The acid test of the mashiach is to bring about an epoch of long-term future goodness. In the epoch of ecocrisis and cultural apocalypse this test is about human beings being able to assume personal responsibility for our impact on planetary viability of life and using our incarnations to ensure we leave the planet in a more blessed condition than it currently is, not in a state of mass extinction of biodiversity.

It would be really nice if this could happen through a catalytic social process that involves autonomy and diversity and mutual compassion.

I'm not sure about the role of belief. I feel more confident with visions sought in the winds blowing over the grasses and deep contemplation that the fixation of affirmative belief, which seems to lead to divine plans and punishments rather than enlightenment.

The Gospel of John is widely regarded as coming from one branch of the Gnostic tradition albeit at an extreme opposition to the Gospel of Thomas. Elaine Pagels has given a very 'true and sensitive' account of this somewhat tortured relationship.

I doubt the Gautama would have agreed with the Johanine position.

God has let go of you or you have let go of God as you have not been given awareness of the fatal flaw of the Buddhist philosophy, namely the logical ramifications of studies of Buddhist monks' brains while meditating and pursuing their efforts to find "enlightenment". These are the End Times for Buddhist philosophy as well as for the Abrahamic religions.

As I mentioned before, a spiritual awareness paradigm shift does not seem to happen to human beings without Jesus' truth found in John's Gospel- that without "signs and wonders" no one really believes. The Gnostics tried the intellectual path of acquired esoteric knowledge changing a person which does not work because spiritual consciousness is intimately wrapped up in our emotional make-up. That's why those who go through these intense visionary experiences are literally "shaken" emotionally to pieces. Like Muhammad, I too sweated buckets during my original religious conversion experience that lasted three days and consisted of non-stop synchronicity experiences my science-oriented atheist mindset could not fathom as being at all possibly happening yet they were happening. At the end of the three days I "knew" that I had experienced seeing the world as "maya", illusion, and I do actually have a memory from that time of knowing what would come out of the mouths of my family and friends before they said it, because I had seen the Script God gives us to work out in our mortal lives in preparation for the World to Come.

Read the Gospel of Humanity and you will see that while it fulfills the earlier Gospel messages of Jesus, fulfills to such and extent that one can read Thomas and the Gospels together to see the same message although Pagels is right that there was an intense spiritual battle between those Gnostic Christians who believed Creation to be a flawed affair, a material trap for the soul, etc, and those Gnostic Christians like John who utterly believed as I do too that Creation and the material world symbolized in Jesus asking Thomas to touch his spiritual/material body, is the true spiritual reality. God Itself is created through the evolution of Creation and "God" itself is humanity fully evolved at the "End of Days". This is not a new concept at all as it lies buried within those spiritual traditions that came down from the Mountain, probably first in the Himalayas, passed to Vedics and the Brahmins who moved the knowledge outward, south and west to Iran, Mesopotamia, and Egypt. One can fairly easily follow an Iranian Brahmin trail through their sun-god "Surya", the base name for Syria, Assyria, Asher, Asar, Asir, the Greek rendition being Osiris. The Abrahamics are still fighting the Iranian Brahmin religious war against Vedic Brahminism, with the Vedic spiritual Devas becoming our "devils" while to the Vedics, the Asuras are the evil spirits.

I am committed to surrendering my life to following through with the religious visions God gives me as I can literally do nothing else without feeling like I'm not doing my job, running away to go play where it's far easier to be "normal" and fit in with everyone else without God directly in their lives. Because pushing God of the picture as I see you and your path doing to favor human collective intellectual enlightenment, I cannot follow that path. While you look the part you are not what I have become which is really an old-fashioned Jewish prophet of God. It's just that this time around God has updated the Message into terminology our science-oriented minds can now grasp. But it still spiritually-driven knowledge that doesn't come through intellectual effort, individual or collective. Political work, based on spiritual awareness is where I am at and there perhaps we can meet in common effort to move our world towards eutopia, the Good Place.

In my running Gospel Journal, I have logged the new direction that God has put me on revealing God's Cosmic Plan and the End of Abraham, the Egyptian connection, etc. Because I am not really a scholar and information is vast, I have let God deliver those pieces of esoteric information to me over the years via following spiritual revelations coming into my mind or a friend hands me the "right book" at the right time, a news article appears confirming prior revelations, etc. You people have obvious done far more research than I and it will be of immense value for those needing to understand how and why the Abrahamic faiths have been overthrown by God itself through historical discovery. But the core spiritual truth held captive and almost unknown within the Abrahamic traditions is where God has placed this Christian prophesy bearer with Jewish roots and so I have been "aimed" at the Abrahamics.

Chris, God is with me, immanuel and I will help where I can in your efforts to expand the collective knowledge group as God has directed me towards exposing the pagan roots of the Abrahamic traditions in order to overthrow their mesmerization of believers. This process will have to come through the intellectual efforts of people like you and your group and there's where we can join together--I would love to see a world conference on Abrahamic religious violence and how to end it with scholars coming from all around the world to give imput to the need to overthrow Abrahamic religious myths of origin taken as literal history and mandates for social cruelty that have kept our world at war for the last 2500 years.

Dhushara: I've had a look at the Gospel of Humanity. I like the basic gist of the ideas, but one thing I have learned is that to get from here to the blessed state takes more than personal conviction.

I like and agree with the 'emergent cosmology' of Chardin in its general appreciation for convergence of consciousness. Here is how I had it depicted in 1999 after a diagram from a famous biology professor here who was a liberal Christian.:


In my first e-mail to you I typed that if God is manifest anywhere in the universe it is in the biota, before hitting the delete button, which is precisely your Chardin quote:

Teihard de Chardin: "If God were to have a throne anywhere in the universe it would be in the most complex part of it which we presently know is the human brain."

The messianic complex is something in the wind that many of us can experience first hand.

Around 1980 after a wild visionary night on our land I decided to do the millennial rite of passage if the world hadn't got its shit together before then. I figured 20 years was a good test. It didn't and I scored my last sabbatical to do it. The director of the school let me write my own referee's recommendation for a fellowship on the express condition I didn't say I was walking on water, which is a measure of the relatively high degree of confidence my colleagues placed in my state of mind.

I lay claim to being born Chris King the messiah of the Tree of Life echoed in Robert Graves combined works "King Jesus" and "The White Goddess" accepted for publication the week of my birth which predicted the ecocrisis of religion, just as the first plutonium began to roll out of Hanford, signaling the final powers of mutually assured annihilation.

I don't just believe. There is a stronger reality, which Carlos Castaneda the somewhat fraudulent writer of Native American allegories of shamanism called "having to believe" - meaning not a prescriptive belief, but a belief validated from manifestations in the world around us in coincidence and prescient happening.

Castaneda rightly pointed out that God was on the table cloth of the tonal - the world of imposed order - and rooted the assemblage point, our umbilical flux of visionary energy, to its fixed position, rather than allowing it to become loosened so we could experience the totality of the tonal and nagual representing the complementation of chaos and order together.

Now the difficulty with the whole christogenesis idea is that to work it can't be manifest in just one or two of us and certainly not in the Hellenistic 'body of christ' as in the diagram, but is a natural process which is intrinsic to our existential condition. This means that everyone is implicitly the messiah or no one is. We can't have a natural convergence to full biological enlightenment and at the same time live out a reality where one prophet is appointed to be the son of man.

Also if God is manifest in the biota, and is our future conscious becoming, then God can't have a master plan in the naive sense most religious people would imagine. The master plan is actually us acting with compassion for the future to do the good thing and reflower the living planet.


Also God, as actually conceived by believers, whether we like it or not is a highly patriarchal entity with horrific attributes of jealousy and retribution, which many Gnostics called the demiurge, and the Ophites likened to Satan.. Hochmah has always been crying out from everlasting that she was there before His works of old - sister-spouse and lover dutiful wife and the strange woman with honey comb dripping from her salacious mouth. So if we are all coming to an apocalyptic awakening, in which God becomes manifest in us it had better be the feminine cosmic in there too and it has to fulfill the natural edge-of-chaos complexity of the Tree of Life of the generations.

Nature and evolution are not moral in the sense of divine order, or any of the ten commandments. The universe isn't a sin graduation course for us to be punished in hell. Tigers eat their prey and this is the natural condition and without it the gazelles would likely become extinct by eating out the grassland. The diversity of life got here by evolution, as the genome projects are laying bare once and for all. If there is a specific compassionate force in evolution leading towards cosmic consciousness, we have to be very careful about what we call it or imagine it to be. The theories of everything at the nub of creation remain enigmatic although tantalizingly close, so we are warned not to jump to any naive conclusions about any rule of divine order. Free-will is not just there to obey the will of God. It has more to do with quantum entanglement, uncertainty, and how the chaotically excitable brain actually generates subjective consciousness.

The messianic age is prophesied to end with the return of the Life Tree. I am standing at the gateway. I won't stand for any false awakening based on a demiurge God hanging over from the through a glass darkly epoch.

You rightly assert that Paul and those that followed him produced a degenerate teaching, but you are also falling for the Johanine way in spite of Thomas. This is as risky as siding with the Palestinians against the Israelites when the healing is a whole world in closing circle.

All of us born in the generation of the transition from native paradise to the scientific age of the genome have the duty and capacity to throw the covers off reality, but actually doing it is more than saying so.

I have, as I mentioned, an acid test. If we can't convince 'my very own friend' the 'Judas' in the piece, then there is no point in trying to convince the 5000. When I went to Jerusalem in 2000, at least my family acknowledged that, given the balance of incredibility of world leaders, I might as well do the good thing.

When the Christian missionaries came to New Zealand, the last shore on Earth, they hoped and anticipated that this would be the last step in carrying the teachings of Christ as a prelude to the Second Coming.

But the Maori tribes almost to a 'man' adopted the Old Testament and claimed to be one of the lost tribes of Israel, leading to many different Maori prophetic movements.

One of them going by Kohititangamarama "the first appearance of the moon" built twelve pillars of the temple to be, out of huge native trees. The leader then waited on the shore of the river and a flood came which washed them all out to the coast as he had envisioned. But the one called Joseph floated out to sea and had to be brought back by boat. He took this as a sign that the time was not right but awaited a future prophet. These pillars still lie on a wind-swept beach, all the followers of the path having now passed away.

One idea I had was to plant them as giant peace poles on the 'Twelve Corners of the Earth" so to speak. One in Jerusalem, one in the Amazon ... and so on. Something a bit similar to your fusion of Hebrew and Native American ways.

Transactional Dialogues on Quantum Consciousness

Wheeler delayed choice experiment (1) shows that a decision can be made after a photon from a distant quasar has traversed a gravitationally lensing galaxy by deciding whether to detect which way the photon traveled or to demonstrate it went both ways by sampling interference. The final state at the absorber thus appears to be able to determine past history of the photon. Quantum erasure (2) likewise enables a distinction already made, which would prevent interference, to be undone after the photon is released. Feynman diagrams (3) show similar time-reversible behavior. Time reversed electron scattering (d) is identical to positron creation-annihilation. (4a) In the transactional interpretation, a single photon exchanged between emitter and absorber is formed by constructive interference between a retarded offer wave (solid) and an advanced confirmation wave (dotted). Introduction

This blog is a dialogue on a possible connection between a certain interpretation of quantum theory and conscious anticipation and free-will in decision-making. Firstly I present a discussion and then others interested in understanding the brain-mind relationship try to make sense of the proposal in a series of free-ranging discussions.

Summary


A short account of the quantum approach is summarized as follows. One of the basic ways to explain both subjective consciousness and its apparent influence on the physical world in the form of free-will is through the idea that quantum uncertainty provides a loop-hole preventing physical processes from being entirely deterministic and at the same time opening a small window of opportunity for subjective consciousness to act upon brain states if they are in turn sensitive to quantum fluctuations.

Since the critical issue of survival is anticipation of potentially lethal or highly advantageous situations in a complex computationally intractable open environment the question arises as to how uncertainty might provide an anticipatory property. This leads yo spooky aspects of quantum reality including quantum entanglement and transactions.

All forms of quantum field theory stem from the special relativistic form of the energy. This gives two solutions, a positive energy solution traveling in the usual (retarded) direction in time and a negative energy (advanced) solution, traveling backwards in time.

All special-relativistic quantum theories, such as quantum electrodynamics anre based on these dual solutions. Feynman diagrams likewise implicitly contain both the advanced and retarded solutions. For a photon, which is its own anti-particle, the advanced and retarded solutions of electron-electron repulsion by exchanging virtual particles (3a-c) are identical, as a negative energy advanced photon IS a positive energy retarded photon. Likewise electron scattering becomes positron creation-annihilation when time reversed (d). The delayed choice experiment and quantum erasure, (1,2) confirm that changes after emission, or even at absorption, can influence the path taken by a photon or other exchanged particle .

In the transactional interpretation, such an advanced ‘backward traveling’ wave in time gives a neat explanation, not only for the above effect, but also for the probability aspect of the quantum in every quantum experiment. Instead of one photon traveling between the emitter and absorber, there are two shadow waves, which superimposed make up the complete photon. The emitter transmits an offer wave both forwards and backwards in time, declaring its capacity to emit a photon. The potential absorbers of this photon transmit a corresponding confirmation wave. These, traveling backwards in time, send a hand-shaking signal back to the emitter. The offer and confirmation waves superimpose constructively to form a real photon only on the space-time path connecting the emitter to the absorber.

The transactional interpretation offers the only viable explanation for the apparently instantaneous connections between detectors in entanglement experiments in which a pair of correlated photons are emitted by a single atom, in which neither of the photons has a defined polarization until one of them is measured, upon which the other immediately has complementary polarization. In (4b), rather than a super-luminal connection between detectors A1 and A2, the two photons’ advanced waves meet at the source emission point in a way which enables the retarded waves to be instantaneously correlated at the detectors. One can also explain the arrow of time, if the cosmic origin is a reflecting boundary that causes all the positive energy real particles in our universe to move in the retarded direction we all experience in the arrow of time and increasing entropy .

The hand-shaking space-time relation implied by the transactional interpretation makes it possible that the apparent randomness of quantum events masks a vast interconnectivity at the sub-quantum level, reflecting Bohm’s implicate order , although in a different manner from Bohm’s pilot wave theory . Because transactions connect past and future in a time-symmetric way, they cannot be reduced to predictive determinism, because the initial conditions are insufficient to describe the transaction, which also includes quantum boundary conditions coming from the future absorbers. However this future is also unformed in real terms at the early point in time emission takes place. My eye didn’t even exist, when the quasar I look out at emitted its photon, except as a profoundly unlikely branch of the combined probability ‘waves’ of all the events generating parallel ‘probability universes’ throughout the history of the universe between the time, long ago, that the quasar released its photon, and me being in the right place, at the right time to see it distant epochs later.

In the extension of the transactional approach to supercausality, a non-linearity collapses the set of contingent possibilities to one offer and confirmation wave, (4c,d). Thus at the beginning, we have two sets of contingent emitters and absorbers and at the end each emitter is now exchanging with a specific absorber. Before collapse of the wave function, we have many potential emitters interacting with many potential absorbers. After all the collapses have taken place, each emitter is paired with an absorber. One emitter cannot connect with two absorbers without violating the quantum rules, so there is a frustration between the possibilities, which can only be fully resolved if emitters and absorbers are linked in pairs. The number of contingent emitters and absorbers are not necessarily equal, but the number of matched pairs is equal to the number of real particles exchanged.

Discussion

Dhushara: We have three notions of randomness.

One comes form a situation where we have only partial or statistical information about a classical system, or when we are sampling populations statistically. leaving aside one in which randomness is
an artifact of sampling and partial information, we turn to two and three.

Two comes directly from quantum uncertainty whose description is based on the probabilities you get by a square of the (complex) wave amplitude and is the root of the whole quantum riddle and the cat paradox.

Three comes from situations like tossing a coin or throwing a die where we set up a chaotic or unstable process and use it to determine an outcome.

In three chaotic instability comes down to an arbitrarily small perturbation becoming the seed of the instability so there is a good case it is sourced in quantum uncertainty too, if we are very careful about how we toss the coin. so three becomes two.

Everything we discover about entanglement shows us something of the under-stratum of how uncertainty may come about. I probably used entanglement a little incorrectly in the sense that I was referring to the hidden dynamic that causes the probability interpretation and the interrelated properties of entanglement.

When you release two particles in an EPR experiment, each behaves randomly - e.g. the polarization could be in any direction - but when you put the two records together you find that each was complementary to the other, so there was a hidden causal connection we couldn't see at one detector alone.

Transactions provide the only explanation I know of about how this comes about (i.e. the advanced waves from the detector states run back to the source emitter at the instant the two photons are being emitted) so transactions look like the basis for the hidden realm.

Cliff: I got the feeling that the YIN many worlds of the future are virtual worlds that the YANG present, probably at the Planck Scale, gets to choose from; thus making the real world- one real world.

Richard: I prefer, and I think it is a preference, to think of the Many Worlds as all virtual, until the moment of selection, along with virtual quantum waves, that define the many worlds. I suspect that cosmic forces work out the consequences of every possible selection, beforehand, to keep information finite. But at a moment, in fact in the present moment, all transacrtions yield the one real universe. I get that from my religion as well.

Dhushara: If we are dealing with virtual particles we have a virtual summation. If we are dealing with a real exchanged particle we have a transactional collapse of the wave packet.

When the particle that is exchanged is virtual, all the histories take places as a superposition, so when two electrons repel we have an infinite sequence of Feynman diagrams. This is the summation of histories approach to calculating forces in quantum field theories.

When we are talking transactions, we are talking about a real particle being exchanged, e.g. in an interference experiment. The boundary conditions of the emitters are that of an atom at high energy ready to emit a real photon. The boundary conditions at the absorbers are an atom at low energy ready to absorb a real photon. After the transaction we know which emitter linked by a real photon to each absorber - the marriage dance.

The parallel universes come from the different ways real photons could be linked between. These parallel universes are virtual until we make a decision in which one of them becomes real. One meaning one constellation of monogamous marriages if there are many emitters and absorbers.

All transactions yield one real universe after collapse.

It's not atomic forces which work this out. If you want to understand this you have to figure out what kind of meta-space-time the transaction is occurring in. Before hand we have a Feynman space-time diagram with promiscuous interaction. After collapse we have monogamous transaction. Now this change is happening outside space-time so we are dealing with a dynamic in which we have to think outside the box of space-time.

This is where consciousness as a cosmic complement to the physical universe seems to find its function in collapsing to historicity. This is why we can't replicate experiments about consciousness, because we can't make a replicable study of any of these things without trying to intrude to make a yes or no answer about conventional causality when we know the EPR experiments violate Bell's inequalities. Also if you think about any experiment with reduction of the wave packet influencing decision making by the brain, the context is changing, so you don't get a repeat at all. If you do stipulate perfect replication you just get the probability interpretation of quantum theory which is what the pair-splitting experiments do.

Not only that but transactions for the same reason involve future parallel universe states as absorber boundary conditions. You can't get away from this. When I look at a quasar, the photon is absorbed by my eye which to the quasar is just one probability universe in the future wave function.

You think your eye is real but to the quasar its just one of many probability universes.

Richard: "If we are dealing with virtual particles we have a virtual summation. If we are dealing with a real exchanged particle we have a transactional collapse of the wave packet." says Chris K

Now Chris, are you not mixing the Many Worlds interpretation with collapse and Copenhagen? What Everett tried to do, and I think succeeded, is to replace Copenhagen and collapse (for which there is no theory or even a reasonable concept for how it could happen).

You apparently see a real electron wandering along and encountering a detector where a transaction with virtual positrons from the future takes place; where I see virtual quantum waves propagating along with virtual electrons that transact with virtual positrons and virtual wave functions from the many future Worlds. You also say "These parallel universes are virtual until we make a decision in which one of them becomes real".

Thus, at any instant of time, "all transactions yield one real unverse " but with no need for collapse, I think.

In my scheme the only thing that is real is the transaction. Virtual wave functions immediately propagate after each transaction. The resulting electron in the detector has such constrained quantum wave functions that we approximate it as a real particle; but actually its just a bunch of highly constrained wave functions, so I think.

Dhushara: In Everett's many worlds, all possibilities happen with both real and virtual particles. So the universe branches endlessly and I mean endlessly, not just in two, or three-way splits, but infinite smears of splits because unlocalized quanta have continuous eigenfunctions.

Everett's theory says the Cat Paradox doesn't exist because when we open the box we split into two parallel universes, one is where the cat is dead and the other where it is alive. But the experimenter
doesn't know he/she has split because the branches don't communicate with one another. Therefore the universe looks real to us only because we can't see we are actually split into an uncountable infinity of forms and futures.

Now the problems set in. Since all histories are followed, however improbable, all decisions never get made, because if we decide to walk on the shady path at the cross roads and this decision is a function of a quantum superposition then we were also walking on the stony path and a decision wasn't actually made at all. Therefore our impression of not only free-will but more basically personal autonomy over our lives ceases.

The idea that every step we take and every decision we make we are splitting into infinite forever separated apparitions of ourselves while not being able to sense anything of it is nothing short of psychotic. Also this
universe has again become parallel deterministic.

There is no room for any form of choice than there would be if we were automata. No collapse of the wave function ever occurs and there isn't one real universe but an infinite superposition of parallel ones. The waves never become particles either because really the waves are the superposition of the particles so waves become parallel waves when particles collide. Well okay but this doesn't explain how the wave traveling through the two slit experiment ends up forming a wave the happens to curl up on one atom and give all its vital energy to that one. Some sort of non-linearity has occurred. This is where Bohm's pilot wave idea is trying to reach.

Now the problem is that an alive/dead cat patently isn't what we experience the world to be like. We always experience the cat alive or dead when we actually open the box although we may imagine all possibilities up to that point. This looks like collapse and it looks like the superposition of eigenfunctions has become one eigenfunction.

Everett fudges the problem by replacing collapsing by splitting, both being functional applications of the probability function. Now this is the heart of the mystery because its almost impossible to find a situation in the classical world where a dynamical process distributes itself probabilistically according to a wave function rather than as a summation of dynamical forces. So the wave particle relationship itself is the koan as we have known all along.

So along comes the transactional interpretation, which Cramer originally coined as an interaction between one emitter and one absorber as boundary conditions.

This finesses the collapse problem because his boundary conditions already give 100% probability of interaction between one emitter and one absorber, but it also shows how entanglement is communicated in the EPR experiment and suggest why the arrow of time exists from a reflecting big bang.

So if we are going to bring the transactional idea together with the parallel universes idea, we have to figure how the superposition of many possible emitter-absorber connections become socially monogamous
partnerships. This again is in terms of the probability interpretation, but now its become a probability associated with a discrete set of transactions, so its beginning to show something about how the hidden variable realm works, and it works very weirdly handshaking past and future.

Now it becomes possible to ground ourselves in a universe that has both parallel aspects as Everett's superpositions try to declare, but at the same time a real history occurs and free-will and consciousness has a role in collapsing the wave function and thus making the real path of history out of the process. This is the historical world we experience.

Now what's good about this is that we have a plausible if speculative basis for consciousness and free-will having an evolutionary role of anticipating future uncertainties and we can intuitively get a feel for the alive/dead cat before opening the box, which then plays a role in how the opening box unfolds.

If we go all the way to Copenhagen, we are lost again because there is no meaning to uncertainty except as a random variable with no predictive worth making decisions for us in a manner no better than a magical superstition.

Richard: Easy button. Just make everything virtual except for the transaction. The transaction negates the need for splitting or collapsing including Coping(hagen) as long as all the myraid possibilities that exist before the transaction, and immediately spring up afterwards, are virtual.

Dhushara: You need to spell your real and virtual idea out in enough detail to make it plausible.

A transaction is already a description of a real particle exchange. Making it real isn't the issue and it won;t make many worlds true. One can deal with virtual exchanges using transactions but they always sum all histories so it doesn't tell you anything new.

You still haven't said anything about how your many-worlds idea leaves any room for choice to interact with the quantum world, or how it differs from the many-worlds of Everett.

It looks to me that many worlds will turn real transactions into just such sums of histories and render the real interactions choiceless as well.

Richard: I did indicate that as soon as the transaction is complete thereby choosing a real particle that real particle immediately propagates virtual quantum waves. So the real particle does not propagate and the real particle becomes again virtual.

So the sum over all histories is not lost either in the transaction or in subsequent transactions of that one particle, which becomes virtual until the next transaction

The point is that with every transaction a particular world is chosen which amounts to many potential worlds becoming one world with the choice of the transaction.

Everett claims that a real particle in supperposition, chooses every possibility, and launched numerous real particles into real worlds. That is not a choice if everything is chosen.

In essence I am saying everything is virtual except the choice. No collapse, just a choice. Randomness is preserved.

Dhushara: This ends up looking just about the same as how I described it.

Cliff: From what you said I get that the future pulling us is like fate that ultimately we cannot avoid. But along the way we have the freedom to go off the path leading to the future or even move efficiently along that path by being open to the future, and the coincidences or synchronicity it provides to us for advancement.

Dhushara: We are the arbiters of which future we choose. when we are making a real choice there isn't one future but many - at least two. each future has a probability universe just like the cat paradox before we open the box. conscious free will is a way of opening the box in a certain kind of way. that is by taking the shady path or the rocky path we cause one of the probability futures to become the real one. We aren't being sucked towards either future. nor are we sucked towards THE future. generally we are splitting the wave function dramatically into myriads of possible futures - all of us at once - and trying to make the best free-will interventions we can for our own survival.

One might hope that if consciousness is using free will to anticipate, then this amounts to the universe choosing a more beneficent outcome. this may be true, but we aren't going to be able to prove it easily, or it would have become locally causal and violated bell's inequalities, so we have to be content with an undecidable proposition and just try to be as astute as we can and hope things work out okay.

This is the thorny problem of replication. The problem with trying to do replicative experiments about transactional anticipation (or coincidence) is that if they succeeded we would have inevitably in some sense violated the probability interpretation so we are always I fear going to find the results ambiguous.

However the pair-splitting EPR experiment shows that, in at least some circumstances, we can see there is a causal connection hidden in the entanglement even thought the statistics at each detector appears random.

Also the YANG emitter isn't just one and the YIN absorbers many. Each absorber could have come from lots of emitters too so you start with a tangled bunch of emitters and absorbers all having promiscuous transactional affairs and end up with monogamy - one photon connecting one emitter to one absorber - quantum coitus.

Cliff, your idea that the emitter doesn't need an absorber is reiterating the standard 'model' of quantum theory. All virtual particles need both an emitter and an absorber to exist. We don't know if real particles do too and some people might think in an expanding universe emitters can just radiate into the empty sky. This remains to be settled, but brain states can't be radiated into an empty sky and if the brain sets up internal reverberating states, which only it can absorb later, we are in the transactional anticipation business.

Transactions a-la-Cramer have boundary conditions one emitter and one absorber exchanging one real photon, but that's just an idealized case.

If there is only one future, how do we make any decisions?

Really it's highly abnormal for one historical process to emerge in the quantum mechanical world, so the fact that we experience a single real line of history requires some explanation, posing the contradictions involved in collapse of the wave function.

Cliff: IMHO Transactions are a quantum leap into the future and the result of that leap is that a value is placed upon the future observed.

A transaction is not between the present and many worlds but between the present and one world. It may be that the value of the future state is judged to be to low to go there. That future is assigned to dissipate away.

When we make a choice to move toward a future, we choose the path of dissipation by which the present will dissipate into the future.

If the mind has a state of momentum, then choosing the evolutionary advantageous path of least resistance maintains the momentum of the mind.There are many worlds to choose from but what we don't do is see many futures and then choose one. We see one and either choose it or don't.

Dhushara: Looked at from prescient consciousness ... what happens if we have a premonition or a nightmare about crashing and don't take the plane?

Some people have argued that this isn't a let out and quote someone who had a premonition and avoided a fatal air accident in India only to be shot dead a couple of weeks later in the mountains. But this isn't one history at all and the idea that we are destined to die by the grim reaper who will chase us down with a revolver two weeks later is intriguing, but scarcely plausible or hell would break loose all over the place.

So don't we seriously have to consider one or two options for the future, or we are all doomed?

Cliff: Yea or nay. Do we move toward that future or not? I know if I decide yes, I will follow the perceived path of highest efficiency towards that perceived future. If I decide no, a new future takes its place. Rinse and repeat. When I am thirsty, I don't choose from sleepy and hungry and tired. I see a thirst quenching future. If there are two sources of water, I'll take the low road unless the historical resistance can overwhelm the reward, in which case, there was only one choice.

Yes, yea or nay, towards that future or towards a different one. The farther into the future one contracts can result in increased efficiency. I'm still working on why that is.

Dhushara: Cliff EVERY decision I make has at least two possible futures.

I am about to decide whether to go to the movies. If I don't go to the movies I will watch a video.

To make the decision I have to imagine and relate to two futures.

You seem to cease to exist altogether if you don't choose one.

So what do you actually do if you don't?

Cliff: Where I want to go with this is, what is happening inside the transaction itself. Yes, advance wave, retarded wave, but what information is actually being exchanged and how ...

Dhushara: We can't think of quantum entanglement in terms of information exchange because the fact that EPR experiments violate Bell's inequalities shows that local Einsteinian causality doesn't work.

If you look at the transaction diagram, both the advanced and retarded waves on their own are zero-energy waves which are actually going in both directions in space-time (i.e. the advanced wave has both an advanced and a retarded component radiating from the absorber) but both have crossed phases at the source so the net energy is zero.

When an advanced and a retarded wave is superimposed the crossed phases cause only the advanced part of the advanced wave and the retarded part of the retarded wave to interfere constructively, equaling together the real exchanged particle. Outside they cancel one another destructively.

If you look at the transaction in the EPR pair-splitting experiment, you find that the advanced waves of the two detectors interact at the emission point. So we can see how quantum entanglement can make the appearance of instantaneous communication between the detectors. What has actually happened is that the advanced waves have communicated the orientations of the detectors back to the calcium atom emitting the two photons at the source, and these two then get emitted 'implicitly
knowing' the orientations of the detectors they are going to hit.

But this isn't something we can reduce to classical information about the future because we can't sample the advanced wave without setting off the transaction. Hence we can't use a transaction to classically predict the future in terms of information. IN fact this has to be impossible because clearly the boundary conditions of the transaction include both the initial conditions (an excited calcium atom which must emit two photons to conserve spin) and the final conditions (orientations of the detectors).

Since the boundary conditions involve both past and future states it is impossible for the initial conditions to determine either the final conditions, or how the collapse takes place.

Now move to the real situation which is that the past emission point, in any transaction could emit its real particle anywhere inside its wave function, leading to many parallel probabilities of collapse at lots of points along and across the waves path, we see that what the emitter really sees is all the parallel advanced waves.

Moreover it can't simply make a decision on its own, because these parallel absorbers might also absorb from other emitters. This is why the transactional problem is a 'marriage dance' that is it is a mutual decision made by all the emitters and absorbers together to pair off monogamously.

This is a really logic-defying situation, because we are used (a) to making individual decisions and (b) to making decisions about the future based on the past.

However it really does tell us a lot about how the entangled wave function of the universe might be sorting things out outside space-time proper. God moving on the face of the deep if you want to be superstitious.

Dhushara: Put in its completion, the relationship between consciousness and physical reality, rather than being either an epiphenomenon, or mere identity, or a fully divided Cartesian duality has characteristics more of the complementarity we see between the wave and particle aspects of the quantum world, in which a quantum can manifest wave, or particle natures, but not both at the same time, and in which the two aspects are also qualitatively symmetry-broken, one being discrete and the other continuous. It is this type of complementarity that Lao Tsu called a Tao or `way' of nature, and subjective consciousness and the objective physical universe clearly have just such a qualitative complementarity existentially.

Cliff: In the next world (for lack of a better term) the future is viewed as something which comes closer or moves farther away. So if the probabilities that a certain future will occur increase, that future, feels, seems, appears, is somehow sensed to be closer than before.

But it may be, that it is the mind which has the momentum and our choices become vectors bringing us closer or farther away from the future perceived.

Dhushara: A fundamental theme, which has proved very useful in exploring brain dynamics, is a transition from chaos to order, in which an unstable high-energy chaotic exploration falls into an ordered attracting state, corresponding to recognition of a smell, or the `aha' of eureka that replaces the confusion of a problem with the flash of inspiration of an insight that appears to pop out of nowhere.

Cliff: If it is chaos that rises up and order is what settles out then the future is order and the past is chaos. The dimple in the top of the sombrero is the desirable future. The future collapses from the filtered weight (what rises the highest) of the past. We place a value upon the future as we look down from the heights of chaotic upwelling and it is the upwelling which weighs heavy upon our choices.

However, having reached such upwelled heights, we can usually see another future to vector towards if we so choose.

The hard problem of why we have qualitative phenomenal experiences seems to be described in the topological state of chaotic upwelling which creates a disequilibrium between the present and future. Such thinking would mean that the upwelling was over and done with before the future was ever perceived or vectored toward. Doesn't that fit with transactions? It's all over and done with by the time the emission/choice takes place.

But it may be, that it is the mind which has the momentum and our choices become vectors bringing us closer or farther away from the future perceived.

Dhushara: The mind only has a momentum by virtue of our emotions. Once we are contemplating, the emotions dissipate like waves on a silent, or restless ocean. The restlessness is our daydreaming, which contemplation is attuned to smooth away as well.

But the probabilities which determine, collapse of the wave function, or the likelihood of entering a parallel universe, are not like momenta, or forces, or energy. A particle can have energy or momentum but all this does is cause a wave function distributed over space - in principle over the entire universe.

When a choice occurs in the quantum world it is a choice that can happen anywhere the wave function is non-zero. The strong does not dominate the weak except in democratic proportion based on amplitude. It may be close or far but the closer doesn't rule over the more distant by virtue of its greater strength at all.

This is a very unusual counter-intuitive situation and all attempts to deal with it in terms of classical dynamics fail.

Cliff: You can't honestly defend that. If we are born into a position then momentum is more or less a complete unknown.

I am thinking of a model of the mind like a transaction diagram. The mind gives up something or absorbs something, and said absorption or emission causes a vector change toward a new future.

Dhushara: But look its not the transaction that matters but which transaction from which emitter.

The momentum of the exchanged particle is an inevitability by the Schrodinger equation once which transaction is determined but until which is its a matter of uncertainty.

I for one don't accept I'm born into a position. I'm here to alter the zeitgeist.

Dhushara: You seem to be trying to say that hidden in the chaos of the sensitive initial conditions is a single hidden ordered optimization. This isn't true in either the brain dynamics or the quantum chaotic situation, because the past doesn't have the capacity to determine the outcome based on any logical or formal computation. The quantum situation may have more than one scarred orbit which the particle given its uncertainty of energy could enter.

Furthermore in the brain it is the pseudo-random nature of the chaotic orbit that is pivotal in making sure the orbit doesn't get stuck in a non-optimal ordered attractor that is as important as the sensitivity although the two are part of the same phenomenon. In an artificial neural net thermodynamic annealing a random process takes on this role.

You are trying to suggest there might be just one ordered future although there is a chaotic past. There are not necessarily one but many potential futures and the transition from order to chaos is to choose one. You can argue that in some insight situations, like Archimedes' "Eureka" that there was only one good answer and Archimedes found it. This is true in some situations, but it is also true that even in Eureka situations, there is more than one potential outcome. For example Heisenberg's matrix theory and Schrodinger's wave function are very different algebraic and calculus ways of describing the quantum, so Heisenberg found a different albeit equally effective insight 'future'.

Dhushara: Yes and NO. This is the problem about two versions of time. The first version is the real time within space-time. This is the time over which the photon travels from emitter to absorber. The second time is the meta-time before which the transaction is promiscuous and after which all the contingent emitters and absorbers have become monogamous. (You can add some particles escaping into empty space if you like). The point is that what makes which future happen in terms of uncertainty is happening in meta-time, not real time. We can try to avoid meta-time but then we run into the many worlds problem which simply isn't how things look at all although Everett tried to claim we wouldn't know about it anyway because we would be endlessly split.

Remember the wave function extends throughout space-time so collapse can happen at different times as well as different places. For example a photon we saw from a distant quasar had a non-zero probability of already having been absorbed by galactic dust on its way here.

What I think is the solution here is that the universe solves the problem of super-abundance of parallel universes by giving itself a living history through a non-linear entanglement-based collapse in meta-time. Meta-time parallels real time, because before all the transactions we are before the events in real time and after all the events we are afterwards in real time too. So meta-time is a kind of quantization of real time. I have to think more about this. I used to describe consciousness as the "quantum of the present".

Cliff: That's not what I'm saying. Whatever part rises where ever on the wave function, that is the part that carries the weight. It has to spike somewhere, I'm saying from the spike comes the perceived disequilibrium. Once you are at the peak, you have all the potential momentum you need. The only question is will you vector into the future of the dimple or the future of the brim.

Dhushara: In Freeman's model we end up somewhere on the flattened mesa of high energy space. Not on the top of the hat but in a little crater (attractor) that either was there and we recognized a known smell (order to chaos) or we had to learn a new smell so there is a feedback between high energy chaos and the whole landscape of the hat which causes a new attractor to appear out of the repellers hidden in the chaos itself.

This is why transitions from chaos to order are not a done deal. There is an infinite number of generally different kinds of periodicities hidden in the fractal structures within chaos, any of which could become the attractor.

Your idea that "the part that carries the weight" is incorrect. It's a classical misconception.

Dhushara:
Part of the reason for my hunt for transactions originally was not just to explain how consciousness could manifest free-will, but because I have sometimes had a series of precognitive dreams.

They started after I read J W Dunne's "An Experiment with Time" in my 20s in the 1960s in which dreamers' diaries were compared with their daily experiences in a double blind experiment and found correlate as much about the future as the past. Of course one could imagine rehearsal might go some way towards this effect, but nevertheless ....

Then I had a double nightmare about being stung. I told my wife, who got up to feed our first baby, and then an hour later was stung wide awake, after my wife opened the window in the bedroom, and a wasp flew in and crawled into the bed.

After that I had regular although whimsical examples, which particularly would come true in the first 30 minutes of waking. For example I dreamed I was eating cakes but the banana cake was moldy. The first thing in the morning my daughter turns up and teases her son saying "You silly old rotten banana"! Deja Vu! It all turns into a dream flashback. Now I realize this looks somehow like what subjective consciousness is here to do in a way that computation can't mimic.

Then I looked all through the theories of everything for a solution. For a while I thought gravitinos were tachyons, which is why I don't find Penrose's one graviton idea of objective orchestrated reduction OOR very interesting because, although all particles experience gravity through their mass-energy, the secret trick has to be in the common or garden quanta we are actually exchanging with reality, namely photons, phonons and solitons, not exotic particles like BECs, nor higher energy super-particles in the grand unification which are way off the biological scale of energies either towards absolute zero or the super-high unification temperature, nor in gravitons which are everywhere, but not related directly to our senses except balance

Cliff: If we were the advanced wave moving in the retarded direction towards a future emitter would the universe appear the same?

Since the wave coming from the future is choosing the path that the emitted will follow then perhaps we are doing the same.

Perhaps we are born coming from the future and we choose the path of our forward progress toward the future. We would have free will to select the route but not the destination.

Dhushara: The transactional explanation for the arrow of time is that the big bang is a phase inverting reflector.

This means that positive energy real particles are retarded. Hence a positive energy retarded photon, like we usually envisage, is identical to a negative energy advanced photon, since a photon is its own anti-particle. A time reversed positive energy electron is a negative energy positron.

So you can go from future to past but your energy and anti-matter parity is reversed.

Cliff: I don't want to go from future to past, I want to go from future to present. I want to go from the future absorber towards the source of emission to be.

If we were traveling such a path perhaps that would explain why we only see four percent of the universe.

If we were traveling such a path, wouldn't that explain our anticipation of the future due to our relationship with the potential emitter. Our choices would dictate the path of the eventual emission.

We think of time forward from the big bang. But is that because we have an opposing relationship with the negative energy advance wave that reflects our motion toward the emitter?

If we were traveling on the wave from the absorber towards the emitter where is our past?

Liz: Look behind you Cliff there it is.... oops it moved when you moved, look it's behind you again, nope you moved again and it moved also... look cliff it behind you again....

The EPR experiment shows that the emitter 'knows' the relative orientations of the detectors even when they are going to be moved after the photon has been emitted. That's why the transactional description is so enlightening.

Future-present is the same as future-past, because the present IS in the future's past!

But if you want to travel it step by step liver and all you are violating all the precepts of quantum reality.

But remember you ARE also a negative energy anti-Cliff moving in the advanced direction.

"Fatwa on Purdah" Movie Released on YouTube

We have just completed production of the movie version of the Fatwa on Purdah.

You will see from the link below to YouTube that some Muslim traditionalists from Malaysia managed to get this movie banned from YouTube for political reasons even though it is factual. You can nevertheless watch the original from the link below at the dhushara site. This is a very worrying manifestation of political Islam attempting to smother criticism of its treatment of women and fascist world agendas of the absolute rule of allah by attempting to censor the free media. This movie is among several which have been summarily benned by YouTube after pressure from Muslim political organizations the Google proprietors don't want to alienate, in case it reduces their market share.

A video and documentary fatwa to unveil the veil and liberate the world from violent and lethal punishments for adultery. It has come about, because a conservative Muslim cleric in Saudi Arabia has called on women to wear a full veil, or niqab, that reveals only one eye. Sheikh Muhammad al-Habadan, an influential ultra-conservative cleric, said showing both eyes encouraged women to use eye make-up to look seductive. To cut out one eye from being able to perceive the world at large, is an assault on the most basic integrity and autonomy of the human being. The need to cover the woman entirely comes from a mistaken notion that because women are beautiful and attractive, they are entirely awrah (sexual parts), and thus must be entirely concealed, even to covering one eye, or they will pose a shameful threat to themselves and to their family, through being uncontrollably attractive to strange men. This is an assault, not only on women, the sex who bear the living generations of humanity, but on men, social trust, the natural world, and our access to it. It stands alongside dire punishments, such as stoning women for adultery, which are an affront to the basm-allah بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم “Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate”.

so let your love light meet the light of day

Oh you don't have to wear the hijab
and you don't have to cover one eye at all.
Please don't be eclipsed by your jet black chador,
it's not written in there at all!

And you don't have to wear the burqa,
and you can let your old abaya fall.
You don't have to hide your face in the shadow of your niqab,
al-Llah never ordained it at all!

And you don't have to be stoned for adultery,
or whipped a hundred lashes on your side.
You are sovereign, never shameful, you are sacred.
