It sets out a cosmology which shows humanity that our central and sacred purpose in existence is protecting and unfolding the diversity of conscious life.

The Conscious Universe

Symbiotic Existential Cosmology transcends both materialism and theism because it complements quantum cosmology with conscious volition. It has three core cosmological principles, biogenic, panpsychic and symbiotic. Life exists in the universe because the laws of nature arising from cosmic symmetry-breaking are fractal, giving rise to living systems as an interactive climax. It is consistent with empirical neuroscience but says that subjectively conscious physical volition is real, and this implies some matter – our brains – have physically efficacious subjectivity and hence all matter, because brains obey the same laws and forces as other normal matter. Primitive subjectivity thus occurs in quanta and butterfly effect systems which amplify quanta, like storms, and in bacteria and archaea. But a discrete emergent transition occurs with the eucaryote endosymbiosis between archaea and bacteria, with the sequestering of respiration in the mitochondria freeing up the cell membrane for excitable sentience and social signalling, when consciousness arises in the first single-celled amoebo-flagellates, forming societies communicating by neurotransmitter molecules such as serotonin. This evolved into our conscious brains as societies of 1010 tightly coupled amoeboid cells communicating by the same processes.

The inclusion of subjectivity opens up the spectres of panpsychism, animism and the spiritual/religious impulse in the physical universe, because these are all cosmological views, in which conscious volition is fundamental. But life is symbiotic, because natural selection occurs in the biosphere and all species depend on it for survival, so it’s a case of survival of the fittest biospheric symbionts, not species dominance. Instead of going to hell in a basket towards a human extinction, as we are now as a dominant species violating biospheric symbiosis, by regaining symbiosis over evolutionary time scales, humanity ends up inheriting its true cosmological meaning and purpose to protect life immortal, to ensure our own evolutionary survival, regaining the perennially immortal future of our 3.5 billion year tenure in the universe.

This is the Weltanshauung of Immortality, which flips the Copernican principle of science, because the privileged view of the universe is conscious life in paradise on the cosmic equator in space-time, not the Sun-centred cosmos. But it also flips religion inside out because the sacred purpose of existence is to protect the diversity of life throughout our generations forever, so that conscious life can flower to the point where the universe becomes fully conscious of its own existence through the living biota that form its interactive climax.

Humanity and the Biosphere

Humans evolved to be an environmentally destructive dominant species, because of our evolving Machiavellian social intelligence, after a long period of increasingly rich evolution to climax diversity following the Tertiary-Cretaceous extinction. This shaped our minds to be strongly egotistical to succeed against one-another. In the gatherer-hunter phase, this tendency was moderated by two factors: (1) the mating mind – astute female reproductive choice for smart resourceful entertaining and protective males who can do good sex to demonstrate genuine indicators of fitness and sensitivity and (2) original virtue – the evolution of verifiable trust through long-term personal judgment of good character. However, with the growth of large urban societies, this became overthrown by the imposition of patriarchal domination of woman and nature. Humanity is thus still a dominant species wrecking the biosphere through egotistical tragedy of the commons. Moreover gene-culture coevolution, with the emergence of language, religion, commerce and science hasn't resolved this, because cultural evolution is even more rapid than genetic evolution and has produced no stabilising factors. Only a cosmology in which gene-culture-biosphere co-evolution is embraced can resolve this.

Enter the biospheric response. The same climax period gave rise to plant and fungal species 'salting' the Earth with variants of neurotransmitter molecules which tweak key pathways modulating human mood and survival. In particular, the serotonin analogues called psychedelics – “psyche-revealing” – paradoxically cause (1) a sensory flood, in which the brain begins to develop an internal model of its own processing and (2) quantum change experiences in which the default mode goes silent, resulting in ego loss and the experience of either God or "ultimate reality", leading to alleviation of mortal angst in terminal illness and a deep sense of integration with life and nature in the healthy. Hence these are critical to planetary survival, along with other forms of nature meditation and conservation activism.

<b style="font-family: "Snell Roundhand"; font-size: 10.1px; text-align: left;">

<b style="font-family: "Snell Roundhand"; font-size: 10.1px; text-align: left;">

Dhusharahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16429563425998297239noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-451920464092183110.post-39708764267255946562018-06-26T15:40:00.004-07:002018-06-27T16:11:53.790-07:00A World Warning

Populism, Tribalism and the Future of Planet Earth

We are entering a new phase of danger for the future of life on planet Earth, which could result in a very hard landing and possibly wipe out the human race unless we recognise the sources of the problem and arrest the creeping drift towards annihilation.

There have been many previous danger points, not least the nuclear arms race and threat of mutually-assured destruction, which is still with us, although we have lived with it so long that we have become complacent. We have also witnessed utopian aims of world conquest by military power and by modern social movements, from fascism to communism, and from the equally utopian aims of world religions which see their world dominance as God's destiny, ordained by the violent means of "holy war". We have also witnessed the stratagems and deceits of world leaders vying for power over both their own peoples and the states around them, with whom they interact and interdepend.

The current crisis arises from a new breed of confrontational populism, based on an archaic form of tribalism which takes us back to the Neolithic era of clan overlords seeking only what benefits them and their following, at the expense and exploitation of both humanity as a whole and the living world around us. Human societies have grown from gatherer-hunter bands, through founding tribal allegiances, to militarised states vying for power and dominance. These societies and social patterns emerged when we still thought the Earth was flat and its resources were unlimited or ordained by God and we had no idea that we were contained in a closing planetary circle in which we depend as species on the robustness and diversity of life for our food, for the atmosphere we breathe and for the largely beneficial climate in which we coexist. We cannot afford to sink back into reliance on these archaic notions of leadership and jingoism when our impact on the planet is threatening our own long-term survival.

Both fundamentalist religious agendas and the deceptions of populist strongmen are archaic notions that hobble us from a responsible stewardship of the planet that can ensure the survival of the future generations. We cannot afford to sink back into the mire of history with no foresight for the central issue of the survival of life as a whole.

Democracy was, with some irony, extolled by Winston Churchill as the least toxic of an unsatisfactory bad bunch of totalitarian systems: "Many forms of Government have been tried, and will be tried in this world of sin and woe. No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed it has been said that democracy is the worst form of Government except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.…"

But democracy itself suffers from tragic flaws in its current design. Its Achilles heel is tyranny of the majority, which becomes mutual annihilation in its "hunger games" form in first past the post. Compromising structures such as the US presidential electoral college can even result in the exclusive election of a leader who only holds a strategic minority of the vote, turning the very principle of the popular vote on its head. While these features can be mitigated by forms of proportional representation such as MMP, these too, while having a more inclusive and representative composition, are still prone to backroom deals which can undermine their legitimacy, albeit to a lesser degree than first past the post, which inherently leads to tyranny of the majority through outright one-party control. Gerrymandering and manipulation of the vote is also part and parcel of the adversarial system many democracies become. In some countries the judiciary is politically appointed, as in the US Supreme Court, meaning that justice is held hostage to political interests.

Into this mix comes the toxic agency of populism, a form of abuse of the democratic principle founded on monopolising a divisive sector of society, to instigate a confrontational dominance of one sector over other sectors, which in a diverse society could and should all coexist to mutual benefit and respect. Populism itself can come from valid causes, which induce natural tensions, but these can and are being shamelessly exploited by populist leaders, from Donald Trump on down through an increasing number in Europe. Other strongmen, from Putin in Russia to Xi in China and now Erdogan in Turkey, hold effective one-man control over vast populations, either through corrupted democracies driven by KGB insiders, all-encompassing social propaganda sustained through the great firewall of China, or the politics of coup suppression and media incarceration in Turkey.

It is imperative that the Western tradition of democratic freedom of the people does not become eroded in a disintegrating war of attrition by unilateral trade tariffs and lack of strategic unity, accompanying the divisive and gerrymandered elections in the US, the UK Brexit referendum, and some populist elections in Europe and Turkey, manifestly corrupted by manipulation, both by external powers, and agencies such as Cambridge Analytica, to subvert the democratic will. In all honesty, both the last US presidential election and the Brexit referendum should have been promptly annulled by a second popular vote, recognising the fraudulent nature of the vote, given the intentional subversion of public opinion through social media, hacking and other means.

Migration has become a populist cause in both Europe and the US. There are good reasons why existing populations can feel threatened by large scale migration as a result of war or economic disadvantage, particularly when the migrants hold strong religious beliefs that invoke the utopian aim of world domination and insist on resistance to, rather than acceptance of, the existing culture into which they enter. But the way populist leaders have exploited these concerns is degenerating into a tribalism that throws the world back to the Neolithic at a time when there is an ever-increasing need to heal the world, as a closing circle, in which we all coexist, and protect its biosphere and living species from a mass extinction, which will also threaten the survival of humanity as a species.

This new phase of danger threatens every attempt we can make to deal with the long-term issues of survival within the closed circle of a single common planetary home. Whatever our point of view, whether religious or secular, conservative or liberal, our ability to have any kind of future for ourselves, let alone our offspring and the generations to come is to preserve the sanctity and viability of life on Earth. To do this we have to preserve the climate, habitats and biosphere of the planet in a resilient and viable condition, not let them fail together due to myopic throwback tweets emanating from a Neolithic strongman view of self-motivated supremacy of one group over another.

A signal warning manifestation of this crisis, was the announcement by the "real" Donald Trump that he was pulling the US out of the Paris climate accord in the midst of a rash of appointments of climate deniers, stoking the coal fires of an outmoded maximally-polluting energy source, almost as soon as he was inaugurated. This bald-faced travesty of global responsibility needs to be reversed forthwith, but the issue has deeper underlying causes that mean that Trump is just one manifestation of a serious crisis of confidence about our ability to act as responsible stewards and guardians of the planet for the generations of life to come.

Churchill further said: "If I had to sum up the immediate future of democratic politics in a single word I should say "insurance." That is the future-insurance against dangers from abroad, insurance against dangers scarcely less grave and much more near and constant which threaten us here at home in our own island."

It is thus the dangers of the future which democracy serves to protect us from and particularly those from outside that could become irreversible tipping points and threaten us in the very places we exist. Of all of these threats, the greatest and most troubling is the dire risk to the future of the human race in the closing planetary circle coming to a hard landing, if the leaders of the world continue to pursue self-serving tribalist agendas that drag us back to the earliest days of Neolithic supremacy amid trade, diplomatic or military warfare, driven by clan strongmen who deceive their own people into divisive and confrontational fragmentation, with the short-sighted aim of dominance and superiority.

We now have ultimate powers to damage the planet and to destroy ourselves, through nuclear and biological weapons of mass destruction. Our impact on the planet, its habitats and climate is a serious global threat to the survival of the diversity of life, not just the human species. We have also become a highly technological world society, whose energy demands and power to alter the face of the Earth dwarf those of the Neolithic age, so we cannot afford to allow archaic fantasies of domination to destroy our living planetary future.

So be warned and ponder this carefully. The sleep walkers who cannot see beyond their own short-term horizons cannot survive in a closing circle and they cannot be left to bring the whole world down around us in a crisis of our own making, driven by our own inability to see the impacts we are causing to our detriment and our capacity identify the issues which really matter for our long-term survival and the prosperity of the future generations to come.

A new domain to further an utterly innovative idea.

Resplendence means many things. We usually think of it as a glorious state of natural splendour, but its root meaning re-splendere is to "shine brightly" or "shine again". It is thus both the full overflowing abundance of paradise, and as a global consciousness, it is the light of the world. But it has a deeper meaning, as the true immortal condition of humanity and is hence the natural paradigm successor to religion.

Resplendence is both an attitude of mind and a social dynamic attuned to bringing Earth back to a state of resplendent paradise, sustainable and resilient over evolutionary time scales, to ensure our own survival and the survival of the diversity of life.

Instead of leading to the physically unrealizable imaginary scenarios of religions, such as heaven and hell in the Day of Judgment, resplendence leads to a single real and positively resplendent outcome - the reparadising of Earth in natural abundance, through a democratic culture empowered by climax technology, medicine and science and based on the principles of ecosystemic diversity.

Resplendence complements the knowledge provided by science with the wisdom of what to do about it, in the same way religion has sought to complement practical knowledge in human history. Science deals with the pursuit of the knowledge of how nature and the universe work, while the wisdom of resplendence deals with what we creatively do with this knowledge, in reflowering paradise - the ultimate manifestation of wisdom in action.

We all want to find meaning in life and want it to have a meaning that extends beyond our own lifetime. We also want the security that we are living in a world that has a viable future for our offspring and the future generations. The critical source of our angst that many of us turn to religion to alleviate, is that we are living in a world which is not only teeming with injustice, violent conflicts and weapons of mass destruction, but is lurching towards an uncertain future as a result of human impacts on the world's living habitats, climate and resources which could take us to an irreversible tipping point, undermining the future of unborn generations.

These are problems we need to deal with and heal in this life to have a sense of fulfillment, not just pass them on to future generations to worry about, or to an imagined afterlife full of even more graphic tortures and punishments. The only meaningful contribution we can make to the future is through our offspring, our contributions to understanding in culture and society, in the humanities, science, art and music, through innovations we bring to society which produce lasting benefit and through actually protecting the living planet through our actions to guard the diversity of life.

Nothing else - no selfish, expedient, greedy or jealous motive, or action - can serve to give anything more than a futile and temporary distraction from the central goal of creative integration with the immortal flow of life around us. Redemption comes through coherence and integration with paradise pure and simple. And paradise is a realizable condition, if we only put our collective resources and inspiration to work to achieve it.
The Problem:

Every person on the planet shares a desire to see the world continue and flourish, so that there will be a habitable world for our offspring, for the future generations of humanity and for the diversity of life to continue. We also want to see a world without war and one in which justice prevails for the rich and poor alike. Even highly religious people, except for those pursuing martyrdom, often for violent ends, and a few fundamentalist rapture seekers, want to see a world in which their children and other people can survive.

The trouble is that, while we want to have a sustainable world, achieving it seems to always be beyond the horizons of economic and political realities. Economic realities keep up the pressure on for short-term thinking and political realities are contaminated by vested interests in the business world who deny the damage done to the climate and biosphere by human impact for their own self-interests, despite the obvious mounting scientific evidence that human impact is causing increasing, and possibly irreversible, detrimental change to our future.

Worse still, the world's religions, despite some very good words from a few religious leaders, including the current Pope, are more devoted to ascendency and internecine apocalyptic warfare combined with utopian visions than actual care of the planet. The two major religions Islam and Christianity both promote unrestrained population growth and have ingrained agendas to control female reproduction. One only needs to make a rough assessment of how little financing of environmental projects comes from the major religions to see the actual thrust of their activity.

The large numbers of people who would like to contribute personally to protecting the planet and its future, face an uphill battle because, in the absence of a society-wide ethic to actually cherish and replenish the Earth, effort remains confined to protest groups such as Greenpeace and sporadic government action such as creating nature reserves. Thus investment in saving the planet is like throwing money over your shoulder in a cold shower, because one can put time and effort and money into it until one becomes destitute and depleted, while the problem still grows larger, leading to a tragedy of the commons from the failure of people to act together with a coherent common sense of purpose ,while others exploit it for gain.

The Solution:

Is there a way out of this dilemma? Yes there is! Lets simply extract the two key ideas that convey the two most world-transforming insights from major world religions:

The first is the key insight of the monotheistic tradition with subdue amended to cherish: To cherish and replenish the living planet and its diversity throughout the generations of life.

The second is the mahayana of the Buddhist and Vedantic traditions: To facilitate the enlightenment of all sentient beings.

Covenant:

1. I vouchsafe to cherish and replenish the living planet and its diversity throughout the generations of life.
2. I vouchsafe to facilitate the enlightenment of all sentient beings.

These two are sufficient to bring about a common sense of purpose, both to protect and sustain the planet, and to enable all people to reach a deeper state of understanding of the universe in which they live. They are thus good cosmological science and consistent with the scientific pursuit of knowledge unhindered by beliefs and assumptions. Affirmative belief is not essential to religious meaning. In Judaism, the virtue of keeping the covenantal traditions and in Buddhism observing the dharma, or way, - i.e. actions - are what is critical to bring the blessed condition into being.

The Sanctity of Nature:

The covenant to cherish and replenish the Earth is a commitment to preserve and restore the bountiful diversity of nature planet-wide. It is the key that unites the latent energy of people across the whole face of the globe to have the confidence and energy to realize we can together, without pain or privation, actually achieve the perpetual sustenance of the Planet in the immortal passage of the generations of life. This brings with it an immeasurable sense of relief from the anxiety that we are living in an insecure world of conflict and degeneration, where the very meaning in existence is occluded, and our futures, and the future of the whole world remain in an unacceptable degree of doubt.

By drawing people together with the clear and simple purpose of sustaining the immortality of life, the covenant to cherish and replenish can potentially unite the energy of the entire planet's population around the central activity for which the human species has inherited the Earth to perform. We thus become the guardians of the perpetual diversity of life and find our place in nature not to subdue and have dominion over it, but to act as verdant guardians of a perpetual paradise in the universe at large.

Enlightenment:

By facilitating the enlightenment of all sentient beings, we are also accepting the scientific pursuit of knowledge of the natural universe and the spirit of skeptical inquiry, where we test our assumptions against the oracle of nature, rather than imposing our preconceived beliefs. Enlightenment can have no meaning if it is simply a spiritual conviction or vision in the absence of affirmation from the nature of the world around us. We need both the knowledge and the wisdom to fulfill the engagement.

Thus the quest for enlightenment is both the scientific quest to understand the universe and the sentient vision quest to understand the very foundations of conscious experience of all kinds: waking, dreaming, mystical and visionary. The emergence of conscious sentient beings is a natural cosmological process forming the most complex complete interactive manifestation of the fundamental forces of nature emerging from the cosmic origin. It is thus a cosmological sigma point and the quest for conscious enlightenment is also cosmological.

Sacred Sexuality:

At the same time, accepting the sacredness of sex as the foundation of the passage of the generations of life, from which we all come transforms religions of renunciation such as most of Buddhism, the implicit sexual guilt of Christianity from Eve's 'transgression', and the explicit sexual oppression of Islam, through lethal penalties for adultery, enforced veiling and sequestering and seclusion of women into traditions celebrating in the mutual ecstasy and joy of sexual union and the full abundance of the flow of life, rather than the negation and control of it. Sacred sex has long been central to the Vedantic tradition and is one of the highest rites of illumination in Tibetan Buddhism as well.

Sex is a central part of social bonding key to deep human relationships and the stability of family life and is not just for reproduction, but sacred sex transcends social sex as the deepest celebration of the fertility principle between woman and man. The sacredness of sex also implies mutual respect between men and women and the right of women to reproductive choice, not to be controlled by men or patriarchal religious dictates, because they the bearers of the principal responsibility for parental commitment in pregnancy, a sometimes perilous delivery, lactation and long-term child care. The passage of the living generations comes through sex, so it must needs command the uttermost sacred respect as the holy grail of life itself.

Sacramental Mysticism:

Complementing the meditative and contemplative traditions, the use of the visionary power plants and fungi as sacraments, which are already incorporated into religious traditions in the Americas, including an ongoing Christian movements, which identify them as holy sacraments, provide a democratic avenue to the mystical experiences that are the foundation of religious illumination - forming the psychedelic face of a new Christianity, thus healing the Eucharist which is otherwise a decadent empty sacramental religion celebrating in its central rite the consumption of human flesh and blood in remembrance of a homicidal sacrificial death two millennia ago.

Psychedelics are not dangerous drugs and have been shown in recent experiments using mature people who are not drug takers that they can provide genuine spiritual experiences which have lasting benefits months and years later. The core of religious experience is mystical experience, so a genuine sacrament to replace the empty sacrament of the Eucharist is a pivotal step in making Christianity a real sacramental religion with the integrity to protect the Earth and one in which every person can share in the spiritual vision, rather than having to stoop to the conformity of unquestioning doctrines and a dominant hierarchy of the priesthood for instruction.

Universality:

At its most universal, the way, or Tao of the Tree of Life would involve just these two points as a simple all-embracing covenant, leaving everyone free to express this in an endless variety of creative ways in both acts of restoration and celebration of life.

This evokes a path of true compassion and a human movement of empowerment, which can celebrate its existence in diverse rites of passage, from birth, partnership and death, to the fertility of the seasons, and the agape of creative musical and artistic performance. Just as people across the planet love to party and experience life to the full, the path provides the zest of life with the added sense of meaning and fulfillment and joy of living which actually bringing our energy and activity to its natural fruition brings forth in overflowing abundance.

One can think of the Tao of the Tree of Life as an integration of cosmological science, psychedelic Christianity and sexy Greenpeace Buddhism, taking the best out of each, but really it is the foundation of all spirituality. It is the common thread of sentient survival and the science of nature and cosmology because it is rooted in the realities of the natural universe discovered by the scientific pursuit of knowledge.

This Tree of Life is not just the Biblical notion of a tree in Eden hidden since the foundation of the world but is the tree of evolution of the diversity of life as it has emerged and flourished on the planet over geological time scales.

In a metaphysical way, this brings the two trees in Eden of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and the Tree of Life together into one. Knowledge only gains the capacity and temptation for evil when it becomes divorced from our primary goal in life, which is to sustain the passage of life itself. Once this integration with our life meaning and purpose occurs evil fades away as simply a form of ignorance of the whole picture.

This is a covenant, which religious and non-religious people alike can accept and fulfill together, because its foundation lies in the very truth of the nature of existence. It can thus have a wider basis for collective action than traditional religions, which are fragmented into competing factions each vying with one another as the one 'true' way. By becoming a common affirmation of a wider section of society it would actually become possible for collective action to restore the living planet to become globally effective as well as applying ethical influence to government and business decision-making.

At the same time as the covers have well and truly been thrown off reality by the scientific and technological revolution that is sweeping the planet, religious forces with an avowed agenda of world domination are fomenting violence in the name of the one true God. In the name of Islam, believers are committing genocide, mass beheadings, sexual slavery and other inhuman actions, taking us right back to the tribal law of the seventh century, while innocent people are being blown apart by Islamic 'martyrs' in the vain hope of seeing the face of al-Llah in paradise, with 72 black-eyed virgins at one's beck and call. In the Christian sphere, in slavish adherence to the Sabbatical Creation, people continue to deny the natural evolution of life in anticipation of a "late planet Earth" rapture in the heavens. Amid this turmoil, we still have the insecurity of enough nuclear weapons of mass destruction to devastate the planet, should they become unleashed.

<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: "helvetica"; font-size: 10pt;">Whether we are religious and believe in a day of judgment, or are simply people trying to look to a sustainable world, where our offspring and those of society around us can have the confidence to survive, we have to acknowledge that we are living in a very troubled world, where the future remains uncertain and where potential violence and tumult burgeon. We thus need urgently to come to terms with why we are living in this state, in a world which would otherwise be capable of sustaining a perpetual paradise, how we got ourselves into this dire situation, and how to find the way through to a soft-landing outcome that does protect the generations of life from the tumultuous threats that humanity has wrought upon the world.

<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: "helvetica"; font-size: 10pt;">The word apocalypse is both a beacon and a plague to the human consciousness. It is our destination in the final awakening in the end of days and it is the feverish fantasy that leads countless people to commit violence and genocide in the name of the rule of God, from the Muslim Caliphate to the Heavenly Jerusalem, with the Jewish Mashiach, the Parousia of the Second Coming of Christ and the Mahdi of the Shi'ities playing the role of healing, or avenging, hero in the piece. We can love it and hate it. We can try to ignore it, but it keeps creeping up on us as a fascinating and terrifying vision, no matter how much, in the interests of common sense, protecting the sanctity of life, we try to set it aside, so here is a key unraveling to come to terms with it, to understand its roots in our existential condition and how we can turn the tide of misfortune and the tumult of genocide into a new epoch of paradise under the banner of the Tree of Life - hidden since the foundation of the world.

Revelation

I am resurrected! I have ascended!
I am transfigured, I am redeemed sufficient unto the day thereof,
to bring some consolation to a very troubled world.
Jesus, you are tired - please just come down from that cross.
It's time for an end to all the blood, to the death, the guilt and remorse.
I am a phoenix from the ashes. A new man of the Morning Star,
A feathery serpent of two ways now, the Lord of both dark and light.

I am resurrected! I have ascended!
Life has given me another day, living here on a borrowed fate,t
o do the things that were left undone, before it's all just too late,
Freed from the past, hurtling into an uncertain future,
on a mission of salvation, to give back what we owe.
For all the glory of this life, for all its pain and agony,
let's make this world a better place, where we can all find sanctuary

I am resurrected! I have ascended!
I was clutched into the jaws of death, but the old grim reaper spat me out,
so I have the chance to run another round, and discover what its all about.
I am here to love the world all over, and help turn crisis into survival,
for all the living creatures who scuttle upon this Earth,
for all the finny fishes, for the forests and their dappled trees,
for the birds that fly up in the sky, and human beings like you and me.

I am resurrected! I have ascended!
We are here to make the world anew in an all-too fleeting existence,
suspended between birth and annihilation, suffering and strife.
Not just in the halls of the rich and famous, and the corridors of power,
but those clinging on to life in the ghettos, and the refugees of war.
The only way we can find redemption, is to give our very heart and soul,
to the flowering of the living planet, our golden shining love-bird goal.

Finale

This is the hour of Resurrection! It is the time of Ascension! It is our Transfiguration!
It is our very own true Redemption! It is our Salvation!
This is our consummating Unveiling! It is our Revelation!

Virtually all of the serious global problems facing the planet, from climate change, through habitat destruction to use of energy and natural resources, the ability to feed and care for a rising future population and our future viability, are long-term issues with time spans varying from decades to centuries, millennia and even millions of years. While addressing world poverty and resource equitability could take decades to achieve, even with the best of will, climate change will cause rising ocean levels and desertification that are likely to continue to reduce viable land areas for a thousand years to come. Loss of species diversity will bring a detriment to our planetary genetic resources on a time scale since the last mass extinction of around 65 million years. Many of these losses will never be recovered.

How has this situation come about? Is it a function of the failure of human intelligence to deal with completely understandable issues in the mass, or is it a product of something deeper to do with how cultures have emerged out of an evolutionary paradigm, which until recently maintained long-term stability through generation-by-generation conservation of social patterns modulated only by gradual changes at the genetic level through mutation and natural selection over many generations.

The article provides an in depth investigation of the causes and solutions.Dhusharahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16429563425998297239noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-451920464092183110.post-45976662616709517752015-07-24T03:28:00.000-07:002015-07-24T03:38:55.379-07:00Conversations between two Avatars of RealityKrishna: I know, or rather I have known this for quite sometime now, that I am the same personality who was known as Krishna in the ancient times (right now Kalki). You've written about these kinds of stuff, so I thought maybe someone to talk to. I don't really fit in this kind of world, and I now find myself on earth, end times probably. My partner, is also somewhere here on earth, and I am looking for her. We're both inherently not doing well, I can tell from my heart. I don't know where or how to look, but I only have a feeling where she is. And don't take me to be a happy cheerful person, I am more like a lone walker, right now.

Cristo: Your e-mail raises a lot of root questions. In what sense are we avatars of mythical entities who personify in some sense the existential quest of all beings. Not least - what is the relationship between consciousness and the arrow of time? Do we have soul mate? Do we have a destiny in the universe?

For a considerable period of my life I have considered myself as an avatar too - that there is an archetypal level to reality where consciousness lives out themes expressed in the lives of mythical heros like Shiva and Krishna and Kali and so on. At other times I wonder if this is consistent with nature and evolution as we know it. I don't have the final answer on this except to say that the heroic quest is an archetype of our incarnation and to try to make the best use of it without falling into literalism. It's a metaphorical truth.

I also know from my own personal experience that at times of 'coincidence' there seems to be an anticipatory aspect to existential consciousness - e.g. in precognitive dreaming, which has an innate sense of the immanent future, whose reality shatters our illusions of causality. And that this is maybe what consciousness is for. Now the trouble with all this is that it is all hidden in the quantum entanglement. It has a status that we can neither confirm nor deny. Indeed if we could confirm it, it would very likely violate the probability laws at the foundation of quantum reality and the entanglement from which it comes.

This means that the best option we have is to live in the universe with a kind of predilection for a subterranean opening, living for it as a kind of investment those in the stock market know requires 'stomach' - i.e. not being disheartened when it all goes to custard for an epoch. This is what the notorious shaman impostor Carlos Casteneda called "having to believe" as opposed to the affirmative forced belief religions push on their followers. We can go through the world having no belief at all but maybe that's wasting an innate talent which is that consciousness is here to anticipate a future we can sense subliminally and unless we invest in it with 'stomach' we won't have the advantages it brings to survivors in a living universe.

Now as to whether there is a destined soul mate is another question to do with the evolutionary psychology of falling in love. Sexual beings are mortal and incomplete. It is this very incompleteness which drives the desire for a complement - for another to curl up with in fulfillment and it is this kind of fulfillment the combination of the sexual act and the emotions of falling in love bring about. This is a superbly good bonus that evolution has thrown in the path of the human species because it sums up our existential predicament in a real consolation prize.

The ultimate trouble from my point of view is that I have experienced a bunch of soul mates, some of whom I have loved for years and had children with and others of which were a one night stand or an all too brief affair. My romantic notion of love is meeting a stranger from a strange land who has journeyed as tortuous paths through life as I have and in the co-mingling we each bring together to one another the experience of many lifetimes in knowing as we stare into one another's eyes the ultimate meaning of existence. My original wife with whom I still keep up affectionate contact was an ultimate soul mate but she was destined to be a great love of many men. My current partner and namesake, despite just starting out as a fling on the side, has proved to be the most resilient person in my life and an almost eternally fecund lover. Having had a lot of relationships, I can see that relationship building is as important as the notion of soul mate.

Krishna: You will find answers to a lot of your questions relating to consciousness, if you seek out Vishnu, i.e., you have to know how to sacrifice (a method in consciousness). (Other religions too mention sacrifice, but how to practice it is not known right now). It is also known as Yajna. I didn't read books, etc., I have in my nature, and I know how to do these things. I am now just learning to put words to these stuff.

I know who I am, but being reborn as a human, means I also have too look & find and put stuff into my mind, according to the times and the age. Feeling is what matters, the words attributed to the feelings change with ages and times. What was devotion before, is now called as love. What was duty before is now called as doing what you like, or be yourself. So words are actually irrelevant, "feelings" are relevant. Logic/mind helps in discerning these feelings out. The mind is for this life only, but your soul or "heart" continues. You can feel your destiny via your heart, you can known stuff about yourself, via your heart. That is accurate information of the self, feel yourself. Whats you like, what feels good, and you genuinely feel ok with, therein lies the truth about yourself.

Ok now, just throwing some light in a unordered fashion, don't take it very rigidly, instead try to "feel" it. Vishnu or Krishna conceptually, is a personal attribute of the Universe, is the setter of faith, whatever one, and is also the giver of satisfaction, when sacrifices have been made. He is coupled with Lakshmi (or genuine love for those who are good). Faith & Love, together continues existence and takes it higher and higher. Basic premise. The divine coupling.* What is the relationship between consciousness and the arrow of time?

Faith is time. As long as faith continues, time does. What the mind tries to grasp time, the mind is just doing something, there's no ultimate grasping such concepts using the mind.* Do we have soul mate?

Yes for beings, not disconnected from goodness, there is. You can feel them within your heart, where I feel, you will become genuinely your Self. Go for what your heart genuinely desires and likes.* Do we have a destiny in the universe?

You know it. You can feel it in your heart. Do you want to take credit for your own destiny, or do you want to give credit to a higher power? Basically, see it like this, The Supreme Absolute, is surrendered to her beings, like a mother to her child, whatever the child desires, her mother sets her faith in that direction, and encourages in that direction.* In what sense are we avatars of mythical entities who personify in some sense the existential quest of all beings.

Yea, so you would have to perform sacrifices to grasp the essence of intuition, faith, and goodness, and satisfaction. I find it hard to explain these in words, but you will get a sense of events, feelings, intuition and happenings with the progress of time. You will see the entire picture as one happening, together. Think of reality in terms of consisting only of beings. There is no quest, you're god, doing whatever you want, enjoying whatever you want.

I for myself, know that I don't fit here on earth. I feel so less love here, that I feel it as a dull realm. So I've always imagined stuff, which now I know, relates to my previous connections, with whom I feel disconnected right now. My desire is to go back, my work is to feel good.

The old structures are decaying in some way, but they are not gone. Most beings that descend here are self-sacrificing, they raise the intensity of this realm. But now sacrifices are getting stopped, so the intensity is dying. I don't know what I'll be doing, but I'm feel that most of civilization will be wiped out, by the will of Time, if she so desires.

Sex conceptually is a sacrifice. One being sacrifices her body to the other being for genuine love, the other being (the lover) enjoys being loved and glorifies the sacrifice, body. Nowadays, say porn sites, have man exploiting woman's body, woman exploiting man's body, etc. Sacrifice is being destroyed, not glorified. Beings sacrifice willingly for love, and other good beings feel love for it automatically, they don't desire to sacrifice. Todays world is the same as an Aztec king sacrificing 80000 humans for his own benefit. There isn't a civilization, or something that is good.

Cristo: When I am in Varanasi I am Krishna and Shiva in one, paying my respects to Kali as the root manifestation of all women, from Radha to Parvarti, Kal the changing yuga out of which time emerges. When in Israel I am the Christ. In the Amazon I am the shaman psychopharmacologist. At home, I am the leaves spinning in the afternoon gales blowing past my window. I am the atman. I am the abyss. I am the void. What do I mean by this? So do I take you literally or metaphorically?

I know Vishnu is the sustainer who dreams the universe from his navel, but faith is a double edged sword which can suck us into the underworld. In the Judeo-Christian-Islamic complex, faith is the nemesis of truth. It is the point where everything turns diabolical. The Gita is no exception. Faith to battle is one thing when it is holding no quarter with illusion but when it turns practical it becomes jihad and the internecine Kaurava genocide of the Gita. You have to have faith or you can't understand God. But this is like saying one has to believe or else for religion or God to be real. That's a vicious circle. Its a hocus pocus scam, to believe in faith in itself. We need to take a peek at reality and make the acid test of the experiencer. Not take it on faith.

Heart is the centre and love is supreme. But faith is a translation from the real to the illusory. Heart and love are evolutionary manifestations of who we are as organisms, along with fear, anger, jealousy, envy, compassion, disgust and so on all of which make the complex emotional landscape of relationship in life. None of these are more sacred, or more profane, because all are part of the prisoners' dilemma of existence. If there is a higher calling it surely must come from the fact that emotions in all their complexity evolved biologically on earth and with it existential consciousness which may both anticipate what is about to become and through intentional will alter the entire history of the universe. Therein lies the mystery we are both trying to understand.

The question is - where do these archetypes lead us? Are they a liberation or our prison? What is the universe actually doing to incarnate each of us in the way it has? Does this imply there is a deity lurking behind the cosmic curtain pulling the coat strings of the cosmological theory of everything so that it all has to be? And what has to be? How much is preordained and how much is left up to us or to the vagaries of fate?

I think we are all the thousand eyed manifestation of Vishnu and Lakshmi coming to witness ourselves in the incarnate as we live the mortal coil. But there is a deeper secret. What are we actually doing in and to the universe in the flesh? What do we do here and leave behind us? Offspring and enlightenment? Or more genocide of life? What role does our incarnation play in the deepening manifestation of reflective consciousness and of biological splendour?

The archetypes and the avatars speak of an ancient conformity to an idea, to a cosmology that predates everything we have discovered about nature, which has turned our view of the universe upside down and inside out. Maybe in the quantum entanglement is a wholly new kind of reality we are only scratching the surface of. Maybe we need to enter it with no preconditions, no assumptions, least of all the assumptions of the avatar and the assumptions of a God. So I take my lessons from the abyss, from the insects. From no assumptions at all. I wear the clothes of the avatar because that is the existential predicament, but the inscrutable journey is hurtling by us as day turns into night!

Krishna: Yea, don't go by the words, or religions. The Universe is beyond it, and God is beyond any conception. Modern religions are crap, they worship someone important other than themselves. The thing is to worship your self. Right now its the Dark ages, so humans act as if the Mother is to be feared. The name Vishnu is just a pointer. The real thing is experienced. There are no books, no Wikipedia to help in that. Vishnu is the ultimate destination for those who know how to sacrifice. To give more hints:

* Imagine a warrior walking alone through enemy territory without fear, completely focused on whatever he is doing. He is then worshipping Vishnu.

* Imagine an explorer, who loves the unknown, and dares every mountain, and desert that he comes by, he love for exploration never stops. He is then worshipping Vishnu.

* imagine a scientist, tucking away in a dark room for days, his line of thought attacking a single problem from every angle. He is then worshipping Vishnu.

The focus is not on God, the focus is on what you like to do, and enjoying it. Thereby you also love yourself.

Writing is a symptom of the dark ages. When the hearts are too weak to remember. Writing gives rise to multitude of thoughts and relative importance. Questions with God come w.r.t. to control, and w.r.t. to giving or taking credit. This is rooted in fear. Whenever questioning these topics, discard fear effortlessly, even if it doesn't look like fear.

Instead of that, see it this way, just like a mother desires to birth her child, the universe gives birth to beings. Just desire. Imagine yourself as the Universal mother, to understand the position. The beings are free, but the Mother guides if asked for. Again imagine that if you were the puppeteer of the Universe, where all the beings are puppets, would that give your heart any satisfaction? That would be boring. God separates into multitude of beings just to experience love, and play.
The connection is always love. If God were all alone, if you were all alone, just being God, what would be? Imagine pure goodness and imagine pure love and you will go in that direction.

And beings enjoy reality, they enjoy their God-hood, because they themselves are God. They do whatever they want. But then they become weak and unable to enjoy further, that's where religion comes in. When beings become too weak in their hearts, they start questioning. They feel suffering. The thing is realizing your true extreme self, that is your true self. Your self, that keeps you satisfied, fulfills all your desires and leads you to having bliss in the Universe itself, while being the Universe itself at play.

For me personally, I really don't like to "think" these that much, as opposed to experiencing reality live. Thinking doesn't lead anywhere close to God. True enquiry within yourself is a different thing. I am more inclined to approach from the pov of feelings and intuitions, something that is not concrete, something that you're not trying to hold on to. Your feelings/intuitions are a direct connection to yourself, not thinking or words. How much truth you will grasp depends on how honest you are with yourself. :)

* Imagine a warrior walking alone through enemy territory without fear, completely focused on whatever he is doing. He is then worshipping Vishnu.
Cristo: This is what I call the invincible abundance of life that makes it all worthwhile even if the Earth blows to pieces and we all eventually become extinct, but its also what makes an IS suicide bomber blow fifty young innocent people to pieces in Turkey, so we have to be careful.

* Instead of that, see it this way, just like a mother desires to birth her child, the universe gives birth to beings. Just desire.
Cristo: Yes I get the sentiment and it is very easy to empathize with, especially you saying to follow your desires and your heart which I completely agree with because we humans are actually good at heart - original virtue if we let it live, despite all the negative emotions as well.

But now here we get into the emotional analogy of transcendence. What IS desire? How does desire make life and consciousness? Isn't desire an emotional feature of biological conscious life? A lot of my criticism of gods and religion is that it is all one big analogy for all-too-human emotions and jealousy in particular. Yahweh is jealous of the unfaithful wife Israel. "For I am a jealous God". Muslims claim al-Llah is "merciful and compassionate" but all his actions are violent and homicidal retribution for any form of infidel(ity). Rama condemns Sati to suttee even though she was always his faithful wife. So what is the Ramayana teaching us about respecting women any more than the Gita does about securing the peace? Even the Veda is full of Indra's worldly pretensions. That leaves the Upanishads as our only hope. This is where Buddha got it right and then got it wrong claiming the only reality is escaping the wheel of birth and death which is the very life process itself. What a nihilistic conclusion! A suicidal escape from life itself into the void that is no void. That's not an answer - its just a surrender.

So the question becomes another one. Is the universe in the archetype of human emotions? Or to put it another way - are human emotions in the archetype of the Elohim who created the world? But there are very good reasons for coming to the conclusion that human emotions are mammalian emotions that evolved in mammals so they could socialize in ways which transcend strict genetic altruism and thus form cooperative groups. Emotions thus gain cosmic status by transcending the confines of earlier organisms. That is itself very cool and opens another question. Is evolution opening out an epoch of enlightenment like a lotus blossom opening?

What is the source of this phenomenon? Is it just math or is it Vishnu-Lakshmi? But what is a human analogy getting into the centre of the cyclone for? Why is God an organism or a couple of organisms desiring stuff? What about their ecosystem? What about their laws of nature that made them desire? Where does it all start? It seems we have just pushed the problem onto Vishnu-Lakshmis doorstep for them to solve.

Our experience tells us of two complementary natures - conscious and physical - mind and body complementary like wave and particle, female and male, yin and yang, Shakti and Shiva if you like, or even Vishnu and Lakshmi if you 'desire'. There is no evidence for a cosmic threesome in this equation. God, or the creator, or the Mother is superfluous to the abundance of the creative process. Even Vishnu dreaming the universe - a great myth of awesome explanatory power - fails to solve the complementary dilemma.

And we know dreams have different qualities from waking life so to say the universe is a dream of God is to confuse the two. I just dreamed a snake had killed our cat. I dreamed was in France and had lost my car. We can fly in dreams but we can't look at our watch and tell the time correctly. The differences are palpable.

Vishnu dreaming the universe doesn't explain to us the complementarity of consciousness and the physical world - it just finesses it into the dream of the God all powerful making the whole thing - galaxies, dark matter, black holes and all. But the universe has more properties than our dreams alone and our dreams are built on their biological foundation. The Judeo-Christian god is even more dysfunctional because he creates the universe like a clockwork toy, when we know you can't create a brain by imposing conditions from outside like we can a mechanism like a computer - embryogenesis is a generative interactive inside-out process, as is evolution, so is the universe as well.

You are right about the other point of view i.e. seeing it from 'her' the Mother's cosmic perspective. I see individual consciousness as a constrained form of cosmic consciousness like the bundle of life - a tied up form in incarnate bondage, which if we untie it a little in visions, merges with the cosmic self, better able to see itself. But this is yet another analogy.

We know dreaming and visionary experiences because we have biological brains that evolved sentient consciousness. From every practical scientific point of view it is rooted in the physical and emerges in the conscious only when we have chaotically sensitive quantum brains to generate the entanglement.

We can't just say it's all a creative dream of God or the Mother because where are their neurons or the equivalent to support their dreams? In a black cloud? On planet nine? In the center of stars or the galactic core? Outside the inside out standing in a continuum beyond all towns and countries? Then it all becomes a cypher. An answer begging to exist because the question is so huge and incomprehensible.

Now to sex and pornography. If you look at the temples of Khajuraho - the Jaggernath I think in particular - you will see both high sexual rites - Maithuna - and on the lower strata, every form of 'perversion', from bestiality to sodomy. It's all in the transgressive merry go round that sex is. Fertility and pollution are other sides of the same coin. I'm a great believer in worshiping the woman respectfully, and in reproductive sex - that is the greatest fuck is to get the soul mate pregnant with new life - our life. Vastly better than voyeuristic lust, sucking off, rear entry, or anything with another species, or one's own kith and kin. Its the pure path of sexual true love speaking. Its the glory and the life fulfillment. The Song of Songs is a great poem to sexual fertility even though it is unrequited. But still sex is naughty and transgressive. You can't decry pornography when your own religious tradition has Kali stomping on Shankar, and all those freezes admitting everything goes with consenting adults.

Krishna: Another interesting thing I want to point out is, judgements. Many questions are intrinsically judgmental. Judgements are rooted in fear, and they lead to more judgements and holding fear in your hearts. Freedom from judgement means not trying to build a dam to direct where the river flows. It is whatever it is right now, due to the multitude of desires of multitudes of beings for thousands of years. It's just nature. Death, being a fact of life, violence is a point of query for those who are bound by fear. On the other hand, if people were just fearless, they would immediately put a stop to whatever is happening in front of them. Because right now evil is effortlessly violent and making all the rules, while those who are good are weak, nice, polite and bound by rules and internal conflicts of what is right and wrong. If you upgrade yourself to God-hood, imagine upgrading yourself to a vampire, w.r.t. modern day humans. It isn't condescending, but rather being good as well as strong, and free.

It's overwhelming for me in this time and age, and to me, my identity is irrelevant. I like to think of myself as normal, because people are nowadays infatuated with becoming important. I also hope you understand, I don't follow any religious traditions, I just know. The world is full of doubts, and not everyone is intellectual, they are more driven by their desires when asking questions, and I am not the fulfiller of desires. It's not a customer satisfaction survey.

Cristo: I realized I was the Christ one stormy night on the land on the visionary sacraments and lived it out twenty years later by going to Jerusalem and performing rites of passage to throw open the Gates of Compassion, reflower the Tree of Life and celebrate the Sacred Reunion, so I know all about this kind of feeling too. And it's real in a sense, and the key to what incarnate consciousness is about, but the avatar has a responsibility to bring about an epoch of long-term future goodness in the real world. We all do but the bigger the realization the more inscrutable the responsibility.

Krishna: You're approaching correctly, but your views are still intellectually rigid.

Cristo: Not rigid but inquisitive. We are conversing so I am playing devil's advocate with you about the importance of understanding nature as complementing the visionary. My source experience doesn't come from intellect but from contemplation. I became involved in the visionary sacraments because they are a path to illumination that has no mantras or doctrines. Moreover they are a natural biospheric complement and completion of the existential consciousness of the human mind. Without the sacraments I would never have known the inner secrets. For me it is always a deep meditation to enter the contemplative trance simply by listening to the sounds and patterns as they come together into a conscious void into which I melt and disappear into the visions. If I try to apply intellect or even try too hard to keep a line of observation it will keep me from descending into the reverie that harbour experiences impossible in the waking world and altogether different from the equally extraordinary experiences of dreaming. Intellect is just a summing up of the innate experience.

Krishna: Imagine a tree growing, imagine flowers appearing and then flowers becoming fruits. It natural. As a part of the natural process you will see the world grow old and then change. I am part of this natural process and so is everyone. There's no planning things for me, by the mind. Don't approach truth or knowledge related to God, via your mind. You cannot write it down. Give up your desires and fears, and you'll find truth. Giving up your desires and or fears is sacrificing. With that, everyone can interpret a written religion their own way according to what they desire (subconsciously

Cristo: Yes letting go into the universe is a key part of this.

Krishna: Everything will happen as normal, is happening as normal, has always been, everybody is doing it. I have no plans of building a religion, I want to be alone, and carry on with my life as normal. But decisions have been made, and you will see change appearing in the hearts of people as time progresses.

Cristo: That's what I meant about the avatar, or messiah, having a responsibility to actually bring about a real improvement in the world. That's one difficult agenda to follow through with in real terms.

Krishna: I am not decrying pornography, I'm saying people don't know how to have sex. Do you love fucking, or would you want to become a woman yourself? How much do you love a woman? Fucking is not love. And the world is centered today around sex, sex is irrelevant. Love is relevant.
Cristo: Sex is essential. It's the foundation. We all get here through sex or we wouldn't exist as conscious beings. Sexual recombination gives us all the diversity of beings on the planet. Without this, complex conscious life would never have emerged. It is what makes the lover our true complement as Shakti is to Shankar. Sex is a mystery of the very foundations of physics - as wave is to particle, so egg is to sperm. Love is the apotheosis of sex - the god and goddess within sex. We can love our parents and kin and we can love our children but the love for the lover is limitless overflowing love for an alien being.

And we can love nature, humanity and the entire universe selflessly. But the love of the lover is the holy grail of love incarnate. Sex and love are entwined and they are brought together into dynamical meaning through lust - the desire to merge with, to fertilize and be fertilized, by the complement, so that life will flourish and the passage of the generations will be fulfilled. Love and lust light up highly overlapping areas of the brain showing they are aspects of a unified process for the benefit of life.

This is one of our highest callings because it is the generator of life. Never secondary. We also have a calling as mortal sentient beings to leave the universe a better place than we arrived or otherwise our whole incarnation is wasted. Intrinsic to this is the third calling, the discovery process we each engage to become avatars of the transcendent within us.

Krishna: Give up your own desires and you'll find truth. There's no clarifying it via words.

Cristo: Maybe it is better to harness our desires as Arjuna would harness his chariot and gird his arrows. Desires are there to lead to fulfillment. Foolish desires are a hindrance. Noble desires are our path of integrity.

Krishna: I have no plans of building a religion, I want to be alone, and carry on with my life as normal. But decisions have been made, and you will see change appearing in the hearts of people as time progresses.

Cristo: Now here you are raising another deep question - this time about the quantum entanglement. This one is - can consciousness - in particular the enlightened consciousness of a living being alter the flow of 'karma' in the universe and in the world around us possibly for the good of an awakening world - flowering as you put it? You mentioned this of the Mother. Or is this just another illusion of Queen Maya?

Krishna: As a part of the natural process you will see the world grow old and then change. I am part of this natural process and so is everyone.Cristo: This is one of those potentially undecidable questions. What is the source of coincidence, or of the vagaries of fate? What is it that causes a disaster to strike one place and a windfall to fall on another? Why did I get sick? Yes it was an infectious disease, but why did it strike me just when it did and why not you? In terms of physics this seems to come down to quantum uncertainty because the source of all randomness in the universe ultimately comes down to this, possibly amplified by chaotic instability.

Now when people try to examine this more closely they discover quantum entanglement. In its simplest form an atom emits two photons which have to have complementary polarization because the spin of the two orbits in the atom's transition were both zero, so the two photons have to have complimentary spin. When we sample one it turns out the other instantaneously has the complementary spin whatever orientation we pick. But the information of each on its own is random. This shows us that hidden behind the randomness can be 'spooky' connections in the entanglement that span both space and time.

But when we repeat any kind of quantum process, the distributions of the particles always settle down to the probability generated by the wave functions. We never find the laws of quantum probability violated long term. Just within the uncertainty window. This means we have no way of knowing if there are subtle mental influences on 'karma' but we do know that such influences can't become established causally or they would violate the probabilities.

Now intriguingly the brain may be using quantum entanglement to generate consciousness because the way brain wave processing is done looks very similar to quantum wave interference and making a decision looks like collapsing the wave function. Moreover, quantum hand-shaking seems to span space-time in a way which links past and future. The Wheeler delayed choice experiment shows us that changing the arrangement after a wave-particle has traversed the universe can alter the path it must have taken.

The deepest question about consciousness is whether it can anticipate the future and whether it can change the physical outcome through an act of free will. We all depend on the notion of personal conscious autonomy to do the simplest of tasks. To suggest we are just automata of our brain function is in fundamental conflict not just with our sense of personal autonomy but with accountability and the law.

So I'm just asking you to ponder what kind of universe you think we are living in. Do you think that simply by existing in a state of knowing that one can change the flow of 'karma' and the emerging history of the universe?

Krishna: This question is related to control, and doing something important. Assume everything is normal, nothing more important than the other.

Cristo: It's not about control but accountability. With control you set the terms. With accountability the world around you does and you have a responsibility to address it. Unless we make a reality check on this we may be just adopting transcendence without it being real.

Krishna: This again, attaches importance to specific events, situations. Do not attach importance to specific events, or situations.

Cristo: But every event is idiosyncratic. Any event can be devastating. Why does one happen to you and another to me? Are we just going to say it's all random? Then we need to understand the entanglement. Every shamanistic path asks this question. Why did it happen to me? Sometimes they conclude it's witchcraft and go to kill the perpetrator. This is a homicidal error. Sometimes they say its karma e.g. of past lives. This is a corruption of biology. Living organisms are not moral manifestations of human waywardness.

This is a very real issue of survival for everyone. Modern science ignores it and says opportunities, disease and accidents exist - get real. But the universe does one particular thing each time like the one quantum uncertainty and we don't know why or how. Does it have anything to do with consciousness, or are we just victims of fate?

Krishna: Everything is normal, that will be seeing clearly.

Cristo: There is a Sufi saying: We are waves whose stillness is non-being. We are alive because of this, that we have no rest. Abu-Talib Kali Life is not normality. It is emergence at the edge of chaos. Everything about life is negentropic, leading to idiosyncratic diversity, including the whole biosphere capturing solar energy and ramifying to produce the diversity of all living beings over time through evolution, which is itself adventitious as well as selective. This is the very flowering of which you speak.

Krishna: Science has the implicit desire to predict and control. The knower whats to control what it already knows and has already expressed by virtue of his own potency.

Cristo: The pursuit of knowledge is not the desire for control. Religions and commercial cultures control, science discovers. The knowledge that comes from learning about nature can be used to control, but the learning is fundamental discovery which challenges and overthrows our preconceived notions. Neither is prediction control. Prediction is not controlling the process, just following it into the future accurately as it evolves. Many processes such as chaos and quantum uncertainty remain unpredictable. Many of the most fundamental discoveries of science, especially in cosmology, are completely beyond our control, but fundamental discovery remans the key to the scientific quest.

Krishna: Ok, fine, but it's also stupid, a sign of ignorance. Giving up thinking while keeping your eyes open, that is real science.Cristo: Yes it is really important to experience intuitively and directly and appreciate the conscious moment in being here now. This is something humans have engaged since the dawn of time and is the key to shamanism across the planet. Our oldest culture, the Bushmen of the Kalahari have pursued this in the trance dance for millennia, probably the last 150,000 years. It's part of the human condition that can be masked by modern life's mechanistic and materialistic demands and delusions.

Krishna: Knowing means grasping the events, sequences, happenings, around you, and noticing that you're the one doing it. When I say, "to know", I mean it in a much broader. Float on what you know, feel your life, do not "think and relate", just try to grasp it by your intuition. Feel it, only notice how the universe happening! Feelings and intuitions are something apart from thinking. Do not join the dots. They will join by themselves.Cristo: Yes that's a very good insight. That's why I say I am the wind blowing by the window.

Krishna: But you will not be able to do this, if your mind is distracted and is directed by your desires.

Cristo: I agree that a lot of people are lost in their worldly obsessions and can't appreciate the inner meaning of existence, but intuition is a natural human faculty which we use all the time if we aren't being completely mechanistic in our outlook.

Krishna: You changing the universe, means you're considering yourself separate from the universe. That is not, hence, the question again has a sense of trying to control.

Cristo: Our personal experience says that we have conscious volition, we can consciously decide what to do. When we do, it has a demonstrable affect on the world around us - we catch the bus, we go to the movies, as incarnate biological beings, not just conscious observers. How does this happen? What's it all about? What does it tell us about cosmology? This is critically important because some scientists would have us believe that we are just brain function and there is no real conscious volition at all.

Entanglement is beyond our control. There is no way to establish causal interactions in the entanglement. Entanglement is participatory because there are other components caught together in the wave, so the notion of control is fruitless. Local Einsteinian causality fails the test of Bell's theorem in all experiments.

Any explanation of how consciousness can have a meaningful role in an organism revolves around anticipating crises and acting to avoid fatal consequences. To do this consciousness may have to do something quite magical by anticipating circumstances about to happen completely intuitively in a way which goes way beyond causality, prediction and computation per se. Indeed the only way consciousness could have evolved is because it has survival utility over a non conscious but perfectly computational brain network.

Krishna: The main thing you need to change in your point of view is not to consider yourself separate from the universe. The moment you experience separation, as YOU AND THE UNIVERSE, you will have innumerable questions. That's the main thing. If you really trying to figure experience that. Otherwise its just intellectual conversation over a cup of tea, which is OK for science but not for religion, and you would know that too given the many experiences you had. Make your mind stop. And then you start seeing.

Cristo: These are deep deep issues no one, religious or scientific, yet understands and I'm sure they are pivotal to understanding our own conscious dilemma. And yes all e-mail correspondence is a conversation over a cup of chai!Dhusharahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16429563425998297239noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-451920464092183110.post-66620603491990756482015-07-14T20:08:00.000-07:002015-07-14T20:11:28.017-07:00CA2D 4 Mac: Version 1.1.9 released - A Feast for the Eye and Brian

Download my latest version CA2D Mac application v1.1.9 Jul 2015 with XCode source files, documentation and examples. For updates and downloads see: http://dhushara.com/CA/

CA2D is designed as a Mac application to provide a research tool to explore as rich and diverse a variety of 1D and 2D cellular automata as possible, while at the same time providing a fast high-resolution artistically appealing easy to use interface, which is ideal for exploring the surprising graphical features of these processes. It comes with source code, so you can reprogram it easily using XCode for new ideas, but also has input rules for a vast array of interesting known CAs spanning most key types, including complex games representing quantum wave functions, the prisoners' dilemma, evolutionary rock-paper-scissors, and the reaction-diffusion automata on mollusc shells which are not available in other applications. It also has some of the nicest visual and scientific demonstrations of the versatility of CAs.

This brain movie shows a two minute MEG, or magnetoencephalographic profile of a subject in the resting state from the Human Connectome Project. Wavelet transforms have been used to show the changing power of activity across the cortex at three frequencies, 9, 20 and 35 Hz, in the alpha, beta and gamma bands, in real time so the changes can be seen at the actual pace they are happening.
What is striking is the high degree of activity in the resting state, showing the resting brain is highly active.

Also striking is the way the activity in higher frequencies changes more rapidly than the lower ones, suggesting brain processing uses lower frequencies for more slowly varying computations and higher frequencies for faster processes, consistent with wave phase processing similar to quantum wave-particle processes, where high energy high-frequency waves pass wavefronts over a shorter time interval even when the transmission speed of the waves are similar or identical.

Averaging over the 2-minute samples for three separate subjects at each of the three frequencies demonstrates the consistent pattern of activation involved in the resting state 'default network'. Although the processing in the movie above appears different at the alpha, beta and gamma frequencies, averaging each over the two minute sample highlights common centres of activation, consistent with the notion of the 'default network' being a centre of organization of resting state activity.

MEG provides one of the best combinations of spatial resolution and real time electrochemical changes so we can see just how the excitations spread across the resting brain when someone is relaxing and daydreaming or thinking about life issues that may be coming up, leading to the idea the resting state "default network" has a pivotal role in rehearsing situations of importance to the survival of the organism.

A series of prisoners dilemma games using my open source Mac application CA2D show varying success of the strategies on differing payoffs. (1-3) evolution under the default 3051;50;10;05. Defect black, tit-for-tat yellow, win-stay lose-shift red, random cooperate green, and cooperate blue. (4-5) 2050;25;10;05 results in hard defection followed by domination by tit-for-tat. (6) 4050;25;10;05 now has a mix of cooperate and win-stay lose-shift but if random is made more cooperative, it then becomes most populous.

Human sexual evolution is driven by mutual mate choice and particularly female reproductive choice, because of the vastly greater parenting investment and risk human females have to negotiate in a massive pregnancy, years of lactation and child rearing. Because we are at an extreme of mammals which bear live young, there is a large disparity between the reproductive strategies of men which emphasize fertilizing as many females as possible and women which emphasize securing resources and good genes (not necessarily from the same man) to support their huge parenting investment in a small number of offspring whose survival they need to ensure.

Thus human sexual selection is an outstanding example of the prisoners' dilemma (PD). Neither sex can do without the other, but each is tempted to defect to gain the upper hand in their own conflicting reproductive strategies. Evolutionary strategies in the PD vary from cooperation and defection to various mediating strategies - tit-for-tat do to an opponent what they did to you last time, win-stay - lose-shift, and other conditional strategies which invoke contextual cooperation and defection on a one-off basis, resulting in a dynamically evolving strategic ecosystem.

There is a nice face to this, in the form of the mating mind - the idea that female reproductive choice selects for smart men who are good providers, and resourceful hunters who love their womenfolk and have both the intelligence and prowess to protect them and their mutual offspring. At the same time mutual mate choice and the lusty throes of falling in love heal these conflicting agendas at least long enough for a couple, who are optimally unrelated so as to confer optimal disease resistance in their offspring, so share no direct genetic ties, can hold their parental relationship intact for the four to five years required to bring a child to the point of being able to cope in a complex human society.

On the other hand large brained intelligent primates from capuchins to humans depend on strategic bluffing to mediate complex social responses enabling complex societies with many niches to exist. The Machiavellian intelligence theory posits that intelligence is centrally about social astuteness and judging good character, in a broadly cooperative milieu, albeit with subterranean deception to take advantage of naive participants where exploitation has easy advantages and few costs, and frank and often lethal defection when the stakes are high and opposing forces enter the stark choices of high noon. But strategic bluff is all about deception and consequently the green eyed anathema of sexual deceit branded the ultimate betrayal, because of its primary threat to male paternity certainty when it is a woman and the potential loss of long term familial support when it is a man. This is where rock-paper-scissors (RPS) comes into the picture.

Diverse Rock-Paper-Scissors dynamics using my open-source Mac application CA2D: Lower centre, 01010100 r generates two classes of demons the narrow ones dominant over the disordered milieu and the wider ones developing from flaws in the former recessive to both. The seed states generating these demons cannot come into being once the dynamic has reached cyclic evolution. Left: Contrast between partial demons of 01111100 r (below) and the cycling regions expanding until one reaches overall dominance of inverse rule 01101100 r (above) with fine-scale cyclic stratification illustrate the differing strategies of cycle-forward-on-lose and cycle-backward-on-lose. Top center: 01211100 r shows larger regions of cycic dominance. It has been noted that counterintuitively moving to the next weaker state on losing can be a winning strategy in the real game. Right: 01111090 x2 shows the effects of 10% mutation facilitating regions of local dominance as well as evolving cyclic fluctuations of the overall population between the three states under iteration.

One can see the female strategies spread between scarlet whores who deny men any reproductive certainty, but offer unconstrained pleasure in return thus defecting against male reproduction, and on the other hand faithful wives, cooperators who a man can hopefully be sure of, but who may be demanding, and jealous of the man's ability to take advantage of other sexual opportunities, just as men can become lethally jealous of women because of innate paternity uncertainty. Men can live with either of these strategies but the third clandestine one they fear like the plague and torture with all manner of grievous punishments, from female genital mutilation, to stoning for adultery, is the deception strategy of females, who seek a stable man to resource their family only to have affairs on the side, siring the odd child with a physically superior man they are sexually attracted to. Thus deception enters the female strategy repertoire to form an RPS triad.

In turn male strategies are also divided into a rock-paper-scissors triad. Faithful husbands who invest in the fidelity of their partner by following the tenets of social monogamy. The trouble here is that social monogamy is just what it says 'social' not reproductive. This truth is common to colonial birds like albatrosses and to prairie voles both of which have life-long relationships but clandestine reproductive trysts on the side. On the other hand, men are notorious at spreading wild oats with an insatiable lust barely containable by the assets of a stable family life. A man who is dashing and has charisma and superior genetic vigor can afford to wander from town to town as a minstrel or soldier of fortune and score a maiden in every place he lays his head. At the other extreme the lords of the manner can demand first rights to every newly wed in the shire and potentates from Tamerlane on down reputedly had ten thousand virgins behind flaming walls. But deception is also a primary and highly successful strategy for men who seek social mobility and positions from which to have an affair with their secretary, a kept woman in a discrete apartment, or simply a quick shag at a rave where the mood is unhinged.

The Rock-Paper-Scissors like three-way Prisoners' Dilemma game matrix illustrates three strategies each for woman and men. In a population of faithful wives a rare scarlet woman can have all she asks for. Conversely, a faithful wife is a prized asset in a society of loose women. This rareness factor prevents the annihilation of either strategy.

The principal thrust of patriarchy is to repress female reproductive choice, which is both pivotal to XY-based sex chromosome evolution and which is essential for women because of the huge parenting investment and danger of human pregnancy lactation and child-rearing and the much smaller number of offspring a woman can nurture by comparison with a powerful or popular male. Invocations against adultery are primarily targeted at women as the 'devils gateway' along with dire punishments such as stoning. Men are happy to exploit both the defecting scarlet women and the faithful wives, but the idea of a female who looks like a faithful wife doing it on the sly with the brawny bloke down at the pub is an anathema to male paternity certainty.

The strategy of deception arises naturally as a function of the strategic bluffing which is the hallmark of the Machaivellian intelligence that enables the complex social niches of lage brained species from capuchins to humans. Virtually all social concourse and the tests of good character revolve around detecting subtle social signals indicating whether a person can be trusted in a climate of charisma and spin. Machiavellian intelligence complements the genuine indicators of fitness involved in the sexual complementation of courtship - the "mating mind" - of good husbanding and astute reproductive choice based on sexual love. Strategic bluffing is a form of strategic deception designed to increase the exsting payoffs from a broadly cooperative milieu by taking advantage of easily deceived participants of low cast. The end result is that deceit plays a central role as a third option in all human societies despite being demonized as the purveyor of betrayal.

It is easy to see how deception is a key player in both men and women for differing reasons, temptation to form an external liaison can enter into a committed relationship partly whenever it is perceived as an additional bonus with little chance of detection. As existing relationships become a burden it is also easy to see how deception can also give way to outright defection, when a man finds his wild oats investments are more suited to his power and sexual charisma than an existing chain around his neck. In turn outright defection can destroy a man's chance of reproductive success when the local community discovers down the grape vine that he is an untrustworthy psychopath. We thus effectively end up with a complex sexual dynamic of prisoners' dilemma strategies between the conflicting reproductive investments of the two sexes amid a rock-paper-scissors cyclic dominance in each sex's strategic milieu.Dhusharahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16429563425998297239noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-451920464092183110.post-9502849940374928422015-05-31T03:41:00.000-07:002015-05-31T17:48:44.467-07:00Sleepwalkers' Awakening becomes a MovieHere is the video version of Sleepwalkers' Awakening on YouTube
The mp3 song link is here. For lyrics and other Niño tracks see here.

I want to explain something to you that is definitively portrayed in "Sleepwalkers' Awakening".

The song makes clear that we have TWO complementary primary incarnate responsibilities - one to discover the true nature of existence, without any preconceived assumptions, before we hurtle through life to our demise like sleepwalkers, and the other - even more important and essential - to give our whole life energy to the reflowering of life and its sustenance for the future generations.

There is not just one spiritual, or religious quest but two. Not just the one moralistic invocation to love the one God, or 'Jesus as Lord', or to submit to al-Llah under pain of death, but two - to both seek true illumination in the conscious mind and, even more importantly, to act as guardians of the ongoing life flow, for the unborn generations of life and the future flowering of life and consciousness.

One doesn't have to be religious to be spiritually illuminated. In fact religion is in fundamental conflict with true spiritual insight, because it interposes doctrine and priesthood in between ourselves and the insight of true enlightenment.

We now know that Christianity is in no way the path of Jesus. All that fell apart with the discovery of the Gospel of Thomas and a few of the other Nag Hammadi texts. In fact Christianity is a Hellenistic pagan syncretic fusion of fantastic beliefs in the born again aftermath of Paul of Tarsus amid acrimonious conflict between diverse cults during the Roman ascendancy. The Eucharist sacrament of soma and sangre is diabolical and the belief in worshiping Christ as only begotten Son of God is in frank contradiction to Yeshua's own teachings - wholly pagan and a completely corrupt cosmology.

Neither is Buddhism the religion of Buddha, although in this case the transmission is a little truer to the insights of the founder, and the quest is closer to enlightenment, although also contaminated with mind over nature fallacies.

All religions attempt to command the mental sphere as sacred, only to degenerate it into a moral dystopia of betrayal of God - in the case of Christianity, a war between God and Satan, in which both parties come off looking diabolical, as the Gnostics rightfully pointed out, claiming God was a mere demiurge, and history shows Christianity to be little better than Islam in terms of unmitigated violence and frank genocide. Islam demands complete submission to al-Llah and Buddhism likewise strives to command the mental sphere through elaborate doctrine, assuming control over the existential dilemma of the grasping ego, attempting to escape the cycle of birth and death, in the absence of the meaning and affirmation natural life itself provides.

Religious history demonstrates that the mental quest for God and eternal life takes compete precedence over the reflowering of nature as an immortal life process, right to the point of diabolizing nature as corrupt, even though some liberal Christians try to take a greenish view of the Church's guardianship implied by cherishing and replenishing the Earth, and some Buddhists, particularly Zen, commune with nature as satori, leaving the complementary Yin and Yang of the Tao and some forms of shamanism as the only paths respecting nature in its essence.

So the real problem is that no organized religion on Earth accepts the second primary responsibility, leaving the entire human and biodiverse planet in jeopardy. In many ways religion is more dangerous to the planet than business-as-usual, because it is irrational and plays deceitfully to everyone's worst fears, has manifest utopian ideals of planetary conquest and extols natural domination - dominion over nature - in the traditions of scorched-Earth habitats in which the entire Judeo-Christian-Islamic tradition was generated. Business-as-usual is selfish, and left unchecked can rape the planet and cause untold damage, but human knowledge and common sense can prevail, and in a rational investment environment, act as a brake on harmful forms of development.

The only way we can redeem this situation is to set our sights on the pursuit of true knowledge, without any preconceived assumptions, as the sciences and humanities depend on for their veracity, and begin a tradition of personal dialogue about the 'second attention' - preserving and enriching the diversity of life - not just as a moral or ethical principle, but a manifestation of our conscious awareness and the need to give to the perpetuity of life in return for the mortality of our own personal experience, to make any meaningful sense of our existential condition.

This rebirthing of the sacredness of nature is absolutely essential. Without preserving the resilience of life and its diversity we face eclipse or annihilation. By comparison, the religious quest is a mere indulgence - naked lunch on the lawn of time - a self-fulfilling device for us to believe in our personal salvation.

Without religion we can learn to understand reality and discover our own inner nature.

Without safeguarding the diversity of life we embrace extinction. It's that simple.

Hence it's truly a Delphic Oracle song ...

Sleepwalker's Awakening

I've been sitting here thinking that the world is turning,

round and round, spinning threads, shifting sands, drifting in the wind

day after day goes by, nights come rolling round in slumber

dreaming of the inevitable time of awakening,

forgetting in our illusions, the times that are hurtling by.

Caught in the miasma, it's hard to take a breath of air

to find the inspiration to step off the merry go round.

But what is the hidden lesson that the wheel of birth and death can teach us?

What is the meaning and purpose of this all-too-giddy plight,

running helter-skelter from one carousel to another,

pretending that the bright lights are the key to immortal life,

loving like there's no tomorrow, and never an end in sight?

Can we catch our breath and be, even for a moment,

to see if we can see the future forming before our eyes?

We have been treading an endless road together,

travelers on a journey from end to end of time

Is there some kind of secret door we can exit the hall of mirrors

and find our way in the wilderness beyond the trackless wastes of time,

hearing the silences between the sounds, perceiving beyond appearances,

falling into eternity, existing in the very instant,

full complete and abundant, radiating the light of life.

We know we are creatures of flesh and blood, of biological origins

evolving sexual beings, of sensual experience,

living in a living world, with every kind of organism,

species coexisting in the tangled web of generation,

creatures of the grasslands, the forests, the wetlands and seas.

This is a lament, for so many facing extinction,

in a crime against humanity, that is a genocide of life.

Can we find the resolve, to safeguard the living planet

Let me tell you a story. It's about men and women and what happened in history when women invented agriculture and we started having big towns and cities and lots of arable land about 10,000 years ago and could sustain larger populations. It turns out that at the time there was a mass extinction of Y-chromosome diversity. Attached is a chart bottlel.jpg across all human cultures showing this precipitous collapse - Y on the left and mitochondrial for comparison on the right.

We know the Y-chromosome goes only down the male line, while the mitochondrial DNA from the endosymbiont bacteria that gives us all our respiration energy go only down the female line from mother to sons and daughters. When we try to look for the mitochondrial Eve, we generally find she is around twice as old as the Y-chromosome Adam - about 160,000 years as opposed to 70,000. This is because men don't get pregnant and so have to try to get as many women pregnant as possible to reproduce themselves, so like all mammals, "hogamus higamus men are polygamous". Men just love the scent of a woman and particularly the scent of a new different exotic nubile woman.

The difference in ages of Adam and Eve reflects the fact that, on average, the men that have successfully reproduced have had an average of two female partners bearing their children, while half the men have sired no children at all. This isn't wrong and it doesn't reflect something insensitive about men or male sexual infidelity or anything else invented by Christian monogamous culture.

Now we come to the punch line. We believe women invented agriculture as an extension of gathering, but when this happened, despite the planter Queens and neolithic Goddesses, human Y-chromosome diversity fell precipitously almost tenfold. The reason? The polygyny ratio leaped from 2:1 to 17:1 - the very few men who successfully reproduced had on average 17 female reproductive partners and the rest none.

This doesn't mean that "higamus hogamus women are monogamous" either, because we know that, like all species, socially monogamous or otherwise, females outsire as a regular and necessary strategy to avoid putting all their eggs into one possibly inferior genetic basket, so a rough 10% of children are not the offspring of their apparent father. The key here however is that women like sexual privacy and the trappings of social monogamy both as a resource for parenting to keep men as faithful as possible and more insidiously so the men don't know who they are doing it with on the sly.

The notion of serial monogamy, which many people in the West have held so dear, on the belief that it provides at least a fleeting experience of one-on-one commitment is just a Christian disguise for male polygyny in a repressed distorted form, where deceit and divorce perpetrate what should be a healthy and natural process.

When Jesus said of Adam and Eve "What God has joined together let no man cast asunder", he was criticizing divorce and men putting away their wives - serial monogamy, not advocating monogamy. We know in Jewish folklore that Lilith preceded Eve, but she flew up into the air when Adam objected to making love topsy-turvy, so rather than blaming Eve as the "Devil's gateway", we should be restoring Lilith to her primal place in the reproductive panoply.Dhusharahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16429563425998297239noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-451920464092183110.post-82986589986063600182015-03-27T13:38:00.002-07:002015-03-27T17:39:45.578-07:00Hot Articles from my latest live reviews

A woman being buried for stoning Iran. A woman stoned dead in her hole in Afghanistan.

The Arabic word zina' that is often translated by the
word 'adultery' really means something more than that - any sexual
relations between a woman and a man who are not bound to each other by a
legal marriage (from adultery to rape), and as long as slavery existed,
intimate relations between a man and a slave who did not belong to him
or was married to another. The Qur'an does not prescribe stoning to
death for adultery. Nevertheless, in many Islamic countries to this day,
including Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, Bangla Desh and Saudi Arabia women are
regularly stoned to death.

A comparison of the Code of Hammurabi, Deuteronomy and Islamic scripture shows that the plight of women became substantially worse under Deuteronomic law and that this harsh violent law, which was effectively suspended by the Sanhedrin in the time of Jesus, was revived by Muhammad taking Deuteronomy literally, so that it continues to be a cruel and unusual violent homicidal punishment, aimed principally at women, in Islam to this day. By contrast, in Western democracies, adultery is not a crime at all, and is simply, as it should be, a matter for civil mediation. There is an urgent need for all the people of the world to stand up and say stoning for adultery is a diabolical crime which has no place in the world today or in future. Deuteronomy which is the source of the cancer should be abrogated by the Jews and all Muslim authorities should declare the hadith on stoning to be abrogated. The Jews, Christians and Muslims all need to apologize to the women of history and come together to make atonement for this diabolical miscarriage of natural justice.

The Code of Hammurabi sets out drowning for adultery but provides for forgiveness. A virgin ravished in her father's house is blameless but the man is put to death. A women accused of adultery without proof can swear her innocence and if others accuse her without proof she can plunge in the sacred river for her husband's sake. All in all it is a matter of civic remedies with provision for mediation.

129. If a man's wife be caught lying with another, they shall be strangled and cast into the water. If the wife's husband would save his wife, the king can save his servant.
130. If a man has ravished another's betrothed wife, who is a virgin, while still living in her father's house, and has been caught in the act, that man shall be put to death; the woman shall go free.
131. If a man's wife has been accused by her husband, and has not been caught lying with another, she shall swear her innocence, and return to her house.
132. If a man's wife has the finger pointed at her on account of another, but has not been caught lying with him, for her husband's sake she shall plunge into the sacred river.

Deuteronomic law has more patriarchal emphasis with greater blame on the woman and no provisions for forgiveness, because adultery is perceived as an evil act in the sight of God and Moses’ commandments in the manner of the idolatrous nations. If a man marries and hates his wife claiming she was not a virgin, she shall be stoned to death unless the parents can show the tokens of virginity, in which case the husband is merely fined and must keep her. If a man is found lying with a married woman they shall both be put to death. If a man lies with a betrothed woman in the city they shall both be stoned because she did not cry out. Only if she is sexually assaulted in the fields will the man be killed and the woman freed. Bearing in mind the origin of Deuteronomy, found in questionable circumstances during a temple renovation many centuries after Moses, and the fact that the Sanhedrin had effectively quashed the death penalty by the time of Jesus, claiming it could be ordained only by God and not a mere human, these passages should rightly be abrogated.

22:13 If any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and hate her, And give occasions of speech against her, and bring up an evil name upon her, and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I found her not a maid: Then shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel's virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate: And the damsel's father shall say unto the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man to wife, and he hateth her; And, lo, he hath given occasions of speech against her, saying, I found not thy daughter a maid; and yet these are the tokens of my daughter's virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city. And the elders of that city shall take that man and chastise him; And they shall amerce him in an hundred shekels of silver, and give them unto the father of the damsel, because he hath brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days. But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel: Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.

22:22 If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel.

22:23 If a damsel that is a virgin be betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her; Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city; and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbour's wife: so thou shalt put away evil from among you. But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her: then the man only that lay with her shall die. But unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing; there is in the damsel no sin worthy of death: for as when a man riseth against his neighbour, and slayeth him, even so is this matter: For he found her in the field, and the betrothed damsel cried, and there was none to save her.

Islamic Sharia presents a confused violent sequel to Deuteronomy, still culminating in cruel and unusual homicides today. The Quran does not prescribe stoning, but states that the punishment for indecency among women is confinement to death, with allowance for repentance, and 100 lashes for fornication. Four witnesses are required to testify and provision is made to punish false witness.

4.15 And as for those who are guilty of an indecency from among your women, call to witnesses against them four (witnesses) from among you; then if they bear witness confine them to the houses until death takes them away or Allah opens some way for them. And as for the two who are guilty of indecency from among you, give them both a punishment; then if they repent and amend, turn aside from them; surely Allah is Oft-returning (to mercy), the Merciful.

24.2 (As for) the fornicatress and the fornicator, flog each of them, (giving) a hundred stripes, and let not pity for them detain you in the matter of obedience to Allah, if you believe in Allah and the last day, and let a party of believers witness their chastisement. The fornicator shall not marry any but a fornicatress or idolatress, and (as for) the fornicatress, none shall marry her but a fornicator or an idolater; and it is forbidden to the believers.

24.4 And those who accuse free women then do not bring four witnesses, flog them, (giving) eighty stripes, and do not admit any evidence from them ever; and these it is that are the transgressors, Except those who repent after this and act aright, for surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. And (as for) those who accuse their wives and have no witnesses except themselves, the evidence of one of these (should be taken) four times, bearing Allah to witness that he is most surely of the truthful ones. And the fifth (time) that the curse of Allah be on him if he is one of the liars. And it shall avert the chastisement from her if she testify four times, bearing Allah to witness that he is most surely one of the liars; And the fifth (time) that the wrath of Allah be on her if he is one of the truthful.

However in Sharia the situation becomes violently homicidal, with anecdotal hadiths prescribing stoning, as in Deuteronomy, even though it doesn't appear in the Quran. The Hadith say Muhammad ordered stoning and performed it himself, and that it was somehow accidentally left out of the Quran on the day of his demise, when a goat ate it. The hadith claim stoning first occurred when Jews came with a couple caught in adultery and Muhammad insisted on the Deuteronomic punishment even though the Jews insisted they said they only gave lashes, and the death penalty had been quashed for 600 years among the Jews. The hadith have Caliph Umar who passed many misogynistic edicts against women, saying he feared that in times to come men would say that they find no mention of stoning in God's book and go astray in neglecting an ordinance "which God has sent down".

The Hadith say Muhammad ordered stoning and himself performed it and that it was somehow accidentally left out of the Quran, which specifies only flogging, ostensibly because it was written on a note which Aisha had under her pillow along with the provision on breastfeeding adults and a goat ate it when Muhammad died (Ibn Majah 3:9:1944).

Jews came to the Prophet and said, "A man and a woman of our nation have committed adultery." The Prophet asked them, "What does the Torah says about pelting stones?" They replied, "We humiliate them and give publicly to their evil act and punish them by flogging." Abdullah bin Salam said, "You are telling a lie. Bring the Torah which also ordains pelting stones." So they brought the Torah and one of them having covered his hand the verse relating to the pelting of stones read out the verse preceding it and the verse after it. Abdullah bin Salam said, "Take off your hand." And the verse about pelting stones was seen clearly. The Jew said, "Abdullah bin Salam is right. The verse about pelting stones is there." Then the Prophet directed that both the committers of adultery be stoned to death and they met their fate (Bukhari 2:23:413, 4:56:829).

Umar in his reign as Caliph recalled that "God sent Muhammad and sent down the Scripture to him. Part of what he sent down was the passage on stoning, we read it, we were taught it, and we heeded it. The apostle stoned and we stoned them after him. I fear that in time to come men will say that they find no mention of stoning in God's book and thereby go astray in neglecting an ordinance, which God has sent down. Verily stoning in the book of God is a penalty laid on married men and women who commit adultery (Ibn Ishaq, Sirat Rasulullah, tr. Guillaume, p. 684)Dhusharahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16429563425998297239noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-451920464092183110.post-9042428408813389052014-11-10T16:16:00.003-08:002014-11-10T17:49:16.429-08:00The Ecology of Religion

A key paper this week "The ecology of religious beliefs" from PNAS (www.pnas.org/cgi/doi/10.1073/pnas.1408701111) shows the ecological basis of moral deities in harsh environmental and social conditions. Notice that moral deities are not universal and that in regions of high natural abundance they do not emerge from the social milieu, so the notion that religion and 'pro-social' morality are somehow bound together is an illusion.

The study shows that belief in moral high gods correlates inversely with natural resource abundance and peaks in societies with several levels of political hierarchy as opposed to egalitarian cultures.Dhusharahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16429563425998297239noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-451920464092183110.post-17131780453856021782014-11-09T14:19:00.001-08:002014-11-09T14:56:40.642-08:00The Religion of Nature and the Nature of Religion

The other day I was looking at the "History of Pornography" series and came upon "Fanny Hill" as the first pornographic novel in the Age of Enlightenment. As it turned out, the author John Cleland was an avid deist. This led me into the deist ideas of a creator God that didn't intervene in nature after 'His' creation. Deists were a rationalist movement in the Age of Enlightenment in the seventeenth century that rejected the superstitious nature of miracles, the literal interpretation of religious scripture, Jesus' divine nature and the Trinity, in favour of a notion of deity that was grounded in rational exploration of God in the form of a creator that left nature to run its course unimpeded, once the creation had been set in motion. Despite this, many deists were regarded by their traditional Christian counterparts as irreligious, even though they tacitly believed in God.

Deism was a unique product of the rise of scientific rationality at a time when the presumption of God as a de facto creator of the universe was still almost universal. However two things eclipsed deism as a product of the hopeful Age of Enlightenment. Firstly it depended on a creator deity setting in motion a mechanistic Newtonian universe. This attitude successively gave way to more intellectually precise notions of scientific naturalism that nature itself is necessary and sufficient to describe life and the evolution of the universe. Secondly, the deist belief in the existence of a true source religion uncontaminated by subsequent fallacies spawned by a controlling priesthood and free of the distortions of revealed scripture and superstitious and miraculous confabulation proved to be an illusion. Instead it was found that religions worldwide displayed strong elements of irrational superstition and fear of the unknown, attributed to a miraculous deity, deities or spirit beings. The rational basis of religion on which the deist premise depended was thus undermined.

Ironically, in the 21st century, it is as if the clock has moved both forwards and backwards at the same time. We see an even sharper division between scientifically and humanistically-minded people on the one hand coming to their own intellectually astute conclusions about the universe, many of whom have very high ethical standards for life and on the other hand increasingly literalist religious believers who discard rationality, good judgment and adequate safeguards for trust in beliefs, to embrace slavish religious imperatives often containing violent attitudes of a collectively psychopathic nature.

In Western society apologists for religion will note that there are good Christian communities that bring about a sense of social conscience and belonging, but Christian assumptions are also at the expense of a sense of ultimate confidence in our goodness of nature depending on salvation to cure all from the sins of selfish expedience. However in the Muslim world, fundamentalistic attitudes have become ascendent in both Sunni and Shiite followings, leading to a literal interpretation of the scripture and law taking Islam back to the three generations of Muhammad in the seventh century and asserting that we are all to be slaves of God under punishment of death for apostasy, justifying psychopathic violence against Sufis, Amadhis, Yazidis, followers of other religions and democratic society alike.

Our ideas of god as a potential cosmocrater, or cosmic creator of the universe changed irreversibly in the twentieth century with the discovery of dynamical chaos, quantum reality and relativity. No longer is the universe seen as a divine Newtonian clockwork. The Pope recently stated that acceptance of evolution need not be inconsistent with creation, effectively conceding to nature the incontestable evidence of evolutionary change, while assigning to God the technical loophole of the 'big bang'. The difficulty with this idea is that the creator God is left with little meaningful relationship with the universe today. Although the finer details of the cosmic origin are still being researched, we know the universe began in a state of high symmetry and low informational content, in which principles of complex symmetry and symmetry-breaking are key, and that the subsequent processes leading to life on Earth have been complex unstable interactions, bringing both chaotic unpredictability and quantum uncertainty into play in the formation of galaxies and solar systems and subsequently, biogenesis and the evolution of life into conscious organisms. So the conditions at the cosmic origin no longer play out in a Laplacian determinism, which a creator God could induce to bring our personal lives, crises and moral tests omnipotently into being.

Once the laws of nature have adopted the symmetry-broken form we see in the standard model of particle physics, the evolutionary complexification of life becomes a product of the hierarchical interaction of the four forces of nature, to form the fractal architecture of molecular matter, resulting in natural interactions leading to biogenesis, life and evolution, including the opposing influences of mutual selection effects shaped by environmental interactions and stochastic mutational changes brought about ultimately by quantum uncertainty.

The only way a deity could continue to intervene in this evolutionary process would be to play dice with the universe, as Einstein denied, by casting the lot in each individual quantum encounter, which remains unpredictable under the probability interpretation of quantum mechanics. But here we find every statistical measure of quantum uncertainty and quantum entanglement conforms ultimately to the probability interpretation, with no evidence of divine intervention upsetting the odds. In the world of our experience misfortune and ill-health strike naturally with blind justice. There is no evidence for divine intervention to punish the criminals and uphold the virtuous. Indeed it would make no sense in a natural world that must needs contain predators and herbivores, just as it contains plants and animals.

Rather than imposing our naive ideas of creation onto the universe, we are better served by developing our understanding of existence from how we actually find the universe and nature to be in the world around us, without overlaying over the facts with preconceived notions based on naive attitudes of fixed belief and undiscerning superstitious faith in a divine power.

Central to the dilemma of existence is the nature of life, death and mortality. Understanding the natural condition of mortally reproducing life brings us much closer to gaining the depth and breadth of insight we need to be able to become a meaningful part of the universe and to come to terms with our own existential condition. Since we are mortal biological organisms there is no point in selfish aims which ultimately lead nowhere. We will gain ultimate satisfaction only by giving our all to the benefit of life and its immortal continuity.

This ultimately delivers on the moral issues posed both by Buddhism (enlightenment from grasping egotistical desires) and monotheism (leading a virtuous sinless life in the eyes of God). Furthermore, we learn that morality is a local process that is a functional part of a vital society, increasing intra-social cooperation to aid social vitality and inter-social dominance, but the universe is in no way a moral dictatorship - a cosmic stage for God to give humanity a moral test of judgment and faith in religion under pain of eternal damnation. We also learn that sin is not all bad and virtue is not all good - natural change involves both defection and cooperation mediated through astute tests of trust, in a climate of strategic dissimulation - Machiavellian intelligence - which gives us the complexity and diverse diplomatic survival niches of human society, accompanied by degrees of both altruistic punishment and discerning forgiveness.

When it comes to the meaning of life, we need to realize that, although we are mortal, sexuality provides the ultimate immortal altruistic antidote to individual mortality. Sexuality transcends parthenogenesis, inducing an almost endless source of variety through genetic recombination. While we are individually mortal, we are part of the immortal enchanted web of life, generating new forms of conscious being through sexual reproduction, in which our own genetic identity provides an equal half share along with that of our sexual partner.

We also need to learn from nature about our original virtue. The evolution of emotional responsiveness in mammals has enabled the formation of societies whose mutual altruism extends far beyond narrow kinship boundaries. Although we are capable of selfish expedience, jealousy, anger and even violent hatred, we are also capable of sexual, familial, comradely and selfless love and empathy for others in plight and feel most at home in a climate of belonging, in which we are a part of a mutual fabric of caring support - an evolutionary endowment of being small bands of people surviving together in the wilderness.

Some of the finest attributes of caring and sensitivity to others, as well as creative art, music and family life, come from the astute processes of sexual courtship, particularly those of women astutely choosing good partners to father their children, given the huge investment of the human female in pregnancy, birth, lactation and early child-rearing. Thus, rather than being lustful sinners to the core, we are a palette of emotions, which in the balance, provide evidence of our original virtue, which has sustained us into compassionate existence in the world of tooth and claw.

Beyond the narrow confines of sexual reproduction and parenting, to fulfill our place in the sacred web, while we are here, we also need to cherish and replenish the Earth in its natural diversity, because, although individual incarnation is mortal, the passage of the generations of life is perennially immortal, so long as the Earth shall live and be hospitable to life. We also gain fulfillment in life by playing our part in the pursuit of understanding, social caring, and creative expression of our cultures so that society and the world becomes, at least in some small way, a better place, through our presence in it. All of these provide the essential meaning of life as a creative process.

The key learning point is that sexuality is the generator of all complex life and absolutely necessary for us to come into the world as incarnate sentient beings. We trade off mortality for life's complexity and abundance. Without recombinational meiosis we could never have become complex multi-celled organisms. Sex is thus sacred and sacrosanct in the passage of the generations. While God is an uncertain proposition, sex is our certain foundation, and the key to our becoming and belonging.

Sexual incarnation might seem to be an endless round of menial animalistic reproduction, but it is far more than this. It has an intrinsic psychic dimension, because each conscious being is a novel evolutionary manifestation of the processes which invoke sentient consciousness - the ultimate mystery of existence. At the same time we are collectively evolving into a state of deepening awareness of life the universe and everything when we step back form the pressures of trying to feed ourselves to survive and the distractions of internecine inter-social and inter-religious strife. This coming to an inner knowledge of the world may be the key to the cosmic destiny of the universe - Gnosis or 'knowing'.

We can seek spiritual fulfillment in a variety of ways, many of which are quite direct, from meditation to psychedelic reverie. These avenues frequently lead to full-blown mystical experiences of a religiously formative nature. We can learn from these experiences, and they form the sang raal of spiritual experience from which all the major religious traditions have been borne. We therefore have a conscious avenue to explore the ultimate mysteries of existence and need to deal with these with the same spirit of open mindedness that is the hallmark of scientific discovery.

Ultimately we come to the cosmic question. What is the ultimate meaning and purpose of life, if, although it is in principle immortal, it will nevertheless ultimately be extinguished by the solar system being consumed by the Sun, or the eventual universal heat death or big crunch. There are two types of answer to this question.

One explanation lies in the universality of cosmic consciousness - the idea that all conscious beings are a manifestation of the cosmic mind, bundled up in a constrained form in each mortal biological being. Clearly the biota, with their complex brains, are the one place where we know complex intelligent conscious life can become manifest, but our experience of the world comes entirely and directly through our subjective consciousness, so it also appears to have an existential status as fundamental as the universe. Existential reality thus appears to be a complementarity between subjective consciousness and the objective physical world, just as wave and particle aspects are in physics. The brain processes supporting subjective consciousness appear to be highly unstable whole brain states attuned to be arbitrarily sensitive to changing circumstances in the world around us. The brain appears to use edge-of chaos dynamics and may also use quantum entanglement among brain wave excitations in these uncertain states, enabling our subjective conscious experience of free-will to influence the fate of the universe around us through our actions. There may even be forms of entanglement over space-time between the conscious experiences of disparate sentient beings similar to the forms of entanglement that we have discovered in quantum phenomena. Hidden quantum entanglement within an eternal universe at large has also been proposed to explain the nature of elapsing time that is key to the changing events around us in real time.

The other explanation lies the eternal relativistic conception, that life, in addition to being a perennially immortal passage of the generations in elapsing time, once it has come to climax is eternally present in space-time, which is itself eternal, extending from cosmological alpha to omega, so the fact that conscious life has come into being in the universe during some epoch mid-way through its evolution gives life its eternal 'meaning' and 'purpose' in a universe becoming conscious of itself. Religious believers may thus seek the eternal in an 'afterlife' because we sense that, in the completion of the universe, all we have done and will ever do is imprinted and encapsulated in this eternal nature of existence. The never-ending nature of heavenly bliss is basically a vision of this eternal unchanging reality.Dhusharahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16429563425998297239noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-451920464092183110.post-60076620379731508972014-10-03T20:28:00.000-07:002015-03-27T17:45:13.919-07:00Nature, Violence, Consciousness, Sexuality and World Religion

None
of us know how or why we are conscious sentient beings, despite our
subjective experience being the only access we have to the world around
us, from birth to death. In the words of philosopher Jerry Fodor neither
do any of us have the slightest notion of what it would be like to have
a theory of how the brain makes the mind or what form such a theory
could possibly take..

Enter
quantum reality. In the quantum world two very weird things happen.
Firstly if a cat is given a 50-50 chance of being killed, by a
radioactive scintillation breaking a flask of cyanide, it is neither
dead nor alive, but both in a shadowy double existence. In our ongoing
consciousness we split the wave function and find the cat is alive or
dead not both. This has made physicists think consciousness plays a
pivotal role in bringing the real universe about from a host of
multiverses - making history actually happen rather than just a shadowy
superposition of all possibilities.

Now
another weird thing about quantum reality. Particles caught together in
the same wave function become entangled, so their behavior is connected
across space-time instantaneously. In entanglement, and in fact in
every wave function, the past and future handshake together, and both
influence one another, so the future can also affect the past, not just
the past and present determining the future. This is completely
counterintuitive to our idea of causality and the linear arrow of time,
but doesn't mean that the future is necessarily predetermined. On the
contrary, it could explain how consciousness came about, in the
following way.

If
the brain uses entangled states, in a certain way using weak
measurements which don't collapse the waves, it may be able to have an
intuitive sense of things that are about to happen. I have a lot of
prescient experiences, particularly dreaming, but really it is obvious
that the central role of being conscious is anticipating reality and any
threats to our survival - jumping out of the way of the tiger. Brain
waves look very much like quantum wave functions and phase coherence is
the basis of both the brain distinguishing noise from attended signal
and is the basis of quantum uncertainty.

This
would explain why consciousness evolved, beginning with the first
chaotically excitable cells which became sensitive to their environment
anticipatively using the butterfly effect and the effect flowed on into
our multicellular brains, making consciousness fundamental to cellular
life, or at least the life of eucaryotes (protists, plants, animals,
& fungi).

This
the the very core of the existential dilemma being cracked here. It's a
much deeper and harder problem than the theory of everything about the
big bang although we can see the two are opposite ends of the same
enigma.

So
that's why I decided to write the song after producing a paper
explaining this. I figure this is deeper than religion. It's deeper than
ego, deeper than personal suffering and deeper than science itself

needs to be expressed in creative ways which evoke the mystery in a way
which can unravel the dyed in the wool notions of traditional religions

Song of the unrequited quantum physics of love

Have we all been running around in circles?
Thinking time is linear, caught in the kitten's cradle,
when all our pasts, and all of our futures
are woven together in the entanglement.
I thought I saw you dancing, spiraling all around me,
but now I have realized it was just some smoke on the wind.

We shared the same illusion, we were on the same wavelength,
but with uncertain momentum, and the energy to collide.

I will always remember. I will always be thinking of you
in the overlapping waters flowing through the tides of history,
among the tangled threads, in the webs of our communion,
beyond the furthest reaches of the trackless wilderness,
in the halls of the mirrors of our recollections
I will always be seeking the paths to reunite.

Although we've been thrown apart in the recoil of interaction
skittering on a tangential, parabolic arc.

I know that we will come sweeping back together
like comets with shining tails blazing across the sky.
I know that we shall always be entwined with one another
in the cosmic wave function enclosing the universe.
So this is the sacred braid of our enchantment.
Schrodinger's cat paradox of the tanged tale of life.

Even in our seasons of long-forsaken loneliness
love echoes on together from end to end of time.
reverberating in superposition, hidden in uncertainty,
entwined in our entanglement, enveloped in our correlation,
neither dead nor alive, are we bound just to be free?Dhusharahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16429563425998297239noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-451920464092183110.post-62289468051418788352014-02-20T02:30:00.001-08:002014-02-20T02:36:56.370-08:00Deus ex Machina and the Conscious Cosmos

This paper presents a potential mechanism for the conscious brain to anticipate impending opportunities and threats to survival through massively parallel weak quantum measurement (MPWQM) induced by the combined effects of edge of chaos sensitivity and phase coherence sampling of brain states. It concludes that the underpinnings of this process emerged in single-celled eucaryotes.Dhusharahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16429563425998297239noreply@blogger.com0
